Haushausen are the brothers André and Mirko Scheel plus whoever is present at the studio when they are coming in to do a session. Born and bred in Berlin, they have been making music together for about twenty years now besides their regular jobs. Mirko works as a TV and Movie Editor and used to play Drum ’n Bass and Hip Hop records, André works for a high end mixing desk company and just started to create useful things as a freelance. They also share the studio space with Dub Taylor aka Tigerskin.
 
In the past they’ve been creative just for the fun of it whenever they had time besides work and family and without any serious intention to ever release their music to the public. That changed in 2018, when Dub Taylor put two sessions they’ve had together onto his ‚Caves and Cages‘ album on Dirt Crew Recordings. Since then they’ve developed the plan to finish and release a few of the Haushausen recordings to do an Ep or even better: an album. There was so much material recorded over the past years that it was not easy to decide which tunes to start with.
 
Usually André plays several Synthesizers, Pianos and Organs and builds beats and Mirko plays Drums, Percussion, Bass, Guitars, Synthesizers and builds Beats too. All that might get mixed up when someone comes to the session with a broken flute, a „Reggae Drums for Beginners’ book, a melodica or a self-build cuica. In our selection, besides Mirko, André and Dub Taylor, there’s Jan Gabler (aka PsychoPlasma, D-Mark, Slinky Wire), who was present on synthesizers in the piece ‚Erdschein‘. He was also a helping hand in the process of developing the album.
 
The guys share a love for Ska, Rocksteady, Reggae, Trip Hop and Dub Music. It’s no surprise that except ‚Im Boot‘ and ‚Wrong Side Up‘ all the other tracks share that classic Caribbean, uplifting two-tone feel and have a moody, rather chilled out dub atmosphere. Since the guys never take themselves too serious both in the question what should come out of it in the end and how far their perfection goes, the tracks breathe a lot from the freedom to be imperfect, a freedom that most artists lose on their way to professionalism.
 
We’re happy and proud we finally can steal half an hour of your lifetime with these eight beautiful Space Dub pieces of the Haushausen debut album and hope you’ll like it as much as we do.

In the digital age, words are no longer just symbols of communication, but a powerful tool that gives rise to meaningful interconnections between different universes.  

Words have the power to transcend time and space, connecting two souls destined to meet. 

Il Significato delle Parole (the meaning of words) is Adiel's new effort on her Danza Tribale, a crossover of two minds, generated together with musician Flavio Accorinti: techno sounds like the restless soul that pervades our days, deconstructed atmospheres like shattered generational dreams. The fusion of two cosmic currents, two ways of thinking and creating, characterized by an immanent power, pushing us to imagine new urban primitivism. Two creative processes, transcending individual boundaries to connect into a single overarching vision, to explore new forms of art and storytelling. 

The EP, mixed by Donato Dozzy and mastered at Rome's Enisslab Studio by Giuseppe Tillieci, starts with Nulla Resta, a defragmented, dreamlike, ascending climax markedly cyberpunk: dense with references to 90s Progressive Dream, Nulla Resta, with its dulcet melodies, transports us to an artificial reality, a spiritual reality albeit dominated by technology. A reality suspended between  fantasy and materialism. 
Suspended, like the second track (Sospesa): dark trip-hop’s echoes adorned by the voice of Jordie Devlin Mcmorrow. "Shadows on the walls orchestrate our downfall." Dystopian futures intertwine with mysteriously dreamy pasts in a fatal spiral of redemption. 
But words remain the catalysing element of this EP. 
Parole (words) represents a communicative rarefaction that embraces tribes near and far. Black drums echo in the distance in an intimate ballad, in an epic ride, in an ethereal metaphysical journey to the dissolution of the boundary between time and space, between memory and perception.  
Notturna, on the other hand, is the epilogue we all deserve; a solemn twilight, a lysergic, dragging escape from the objectivity of the real world.  

The images of life do not simply exist in a vacuum. They are defined by the energy that surrounds them, and it is the explanation behind each of these words that we must find if we are to truly understand them. Thanks to the meaning of words, sooner or later, we will be all united again.

Footsie of Newham Generals teams up with Bristol based production outfit Dubkasm on Soundman Ting. This musical collaboration is a genuine manifestation of Jamaican heritage, seamlessly blending kette drums, gnarly melodies, and rapid-fire vocals. Footsie is deeply rooted in this cultural scene, inheriting it from his father 'Farda Waz’, a prominent figure in the UK sound system scene. - There are melodies that cross the time, lip to lip, carried by birds of a flute, a ney or duduk came darkness of ages. Dle Yaman is one of those timeless and universal tunes.

-The text is a love story. A man loved a woman, or a woman loved a man. Their house was one opposite the other. - The rest is mystery. The beloved has probably disappeared, so the lover sings the loss of his beloved. Or is it the other way, because no one knows if it is a man or a woman ... And the sun rose on the mountain, like a knell ringing, resounding in the sky. This story so transparent in its simplicity, if crystalline, was collected by a Reverend - the Komitas father; Armenian musician, musicologist and anthropologist, who is in Armenia, a few years later, in his vast and patient work of musicological collection of popular music of his country.

The Lucidflow release onslaught powers into 2017 with purpose with another release from production machine D. Diggler. A one time favourite when coming to the regular remix specials on the label, Andreas Mügge debuted in his own right with purpose with the 'Radium' EP, following in quick succession with 'Apricot' and 'Magenta'. The next release is titled 'Renegade' and pulls exactly zero punches whatosever.
Kicking off with the title track, we are in familiar territory with Andreas' trademark tumbling techno drums. Quickly things change, as a long and rubbery bass texture smoothly works its way into the mix. This keeps things undulating and progressive and works to join together the islands of melodic elements - arpeggio early on, gentle four note hook in the middle stretch, and the outgoing dub echo chamber at the end.
Next up are two variations of 'Substitute'. In its first guise, cavernous but muted low end rumbles between punchy beats as a guttural vocal emission powers the mix on. Slowly teasing out towards the lynchpin breakdown, the track suddenly sidesteps into bliss, finishing off with restrained euphoria. Following this, the 'B' variation is more about unresolved tension, holding a steady and dramatic string note near end to end, it's break is into the unknown reaches of space rather than the comforting bliss of its twin.
Swiftly sidestepping all you have experienced of the D. Diggler alias to date, 'Ghettoblaster' goes for trippy acidic electro. The 303 works in 3/4, waltzing around the warm electro undertones. You know what to expect here - attacks of resonance, additional 303 melodies - this is classically executed acid.

The release randomly arrives in coincidence with the definitive closing of another legend, the place in berlin that has been a symbol for years of the cultural renaissance of the german capital after the wall, the Tacheles. When Gerald just moved to berlin, he got his house and his studio inside that very inspiring and artistic place, and as a tribute and homage to his legendary figure, some mysterious writer draw G's face on the right side of that building with the shamanic enigma above that giant mural "How Long Is Now", an existential sigh or question that perfectly sums up the uncertain past, present and future of one of Berlin's most important initiatives, as the Tacheles was, and as the things of our life that we love, as the music, can be, uncertain…But for sure this 3 tracker vinyl is real and it will last for long in our bags, these are 3 deadly club weapons by The Master between bass music, micro funk and soul excursions: A1 gives the title to the EP and it's subliminal dark and psychedelic after-hours dope session, while on B1 there's the shady and sexy atmosphere of "Groove of the Ghetto", a driving and funky house tune sustained by an ultra fat synth bass and enriched by soulful vocals and deep pads, while on B2 the EP ends wih the brutal Uk bass bonus beats monster entitled "202".

On his eternal quest for sonic transcendence, Afriqua joins forces with Soul Clap Records for AFREEKWUH, a semi-eponymous body of new music. At the beginning of 2020, having finally wrapped up his 2019 debut LP, it was time to get back to basics doing what he does best; bringing the secrets of Black music to modern clubland. The dancefloor days didn’t last long this year, but the sudden change of pace was a blessing in disguise. Feeling entirely free to break from any functional cliches, Afriqua dove deeper into his distinctive approach, creating 4 tracks equally satisfying from an ass-shaking or home listening perspective.

It is during times of uncertainty when great musicians create their best work, and it’s no surprise that these tracks are some of Afriqua’s most impactful to date. A nod to the sounds of Rick James and Nile Rodgers, tracks like ‘Legacy’ inject funk into whatever space they are played and caught the ear of Eli from Soul Clap Records. This music feels right at home with the label’s eclectic mix of electronic sounds and reminds us that a dancefloor can emerge anywhere when the right music permeates the air.
