The beloved has probably disappeared, so the lover sings the loss of his beloved. Or is it the other way, because no one knows if it is a man or a woman ... And the sun rose on the mountain, like a knell ringing, resounding in the sky. This story so transparent in its simplicity, if crystalline, was collected by a Reverend - the Komitas father; Armenian musician, musicologist and anthropologist, who is in Armenia, a few years later, in his vast and patient work of musicological collection of popular music of his country.

The funkiness, lightness of melody, dub-infused production and genre-bending approach creat esomething really special. Chilled yet danceable - very nice. Klartraum dub the track out by stripping back and resequencing the constituents to give a nuttier, crunchier texture, but still with a spacious coolness. "The Ripper" is a more straightforward drving number - but of nearly as high quality. It is "Full Focus" that brings back the funkiness and captivates me once more. This time Kartraum surpass the original with their re-rub that emphasises unexpected percussive elements to great effect. Genius. 8/10
