Berlins Lucidflow label returns with a stellar new EP from Norwegian producer Terje Saether backed with remixes from the excellent Klartraum...Lucidflow have had a superb year in 2011 releasing outstanding house and techno from the likes of Paul Loraine, Saytek, G-Man, Nadja Lind and Klartaum. The label has seen support from the cream of the globes DJs with the likes of Steve Bug, Luciano, Josh Wink & Seth Troxler all passionately backing the labels releases. And so for 2012, it seems that they intend to continue where they left off, with quality deep electronic music of the highest caliber.January 2012 will see the release of the labels next single, the Breed EP from Oslo based producer Terje Saether. Tina Valen (real name - Valentina) was born in Severodonetsk in the eastern part of Ukraine. It's here that she received her first introduction to music education (piano and music theory). In 2000 Tina moved to Kiev to work in sound production for movies. At first Tina began working with Jazz-funk improvisations for vocal and jazz bands. "Discotime" on the Pesto Music label compilation became the first track to show Valen's unmistakable talent for creating deep, sultry house music. This track proved a success for Tina and now she has several other projects. Since 2000 Tina works as DJ too.

Storied producer Patrick Chardronnet helms the latest release on Lucidflow with a diverse array of tracks backed by a Klartraum remix. Patrick barely needs an introduction but, for those catching up, his appearances include Bedrock Records, Connaisseur Recordings, Crosstown Rebels and Poker Flat. In essence, it is quite the résumé. 

Relishing the chance to flex some dub muscles across three tracks, 'Dub Of Aces' (lyrics: Aero Manyelo) offers something for everyone. The title track itself is a low key house track, taking things into smoked out territories by having the tempo of its elements. 'Traces' is a main room agitating piece of techno, rolling in like a distant storm before taking absolute command with machine driven precision. Then we are taken home with the downtempo 'Miqio', exercising some choice lofi analogue percussion before smothing the track in layers of resonance and hypnotism. 

Nadja Lind and Helmut Ebritch then step up and demonstrate their many years of production nous on their rework of 'Dub Of Aces'. Returning the favour for Patrick's remix of 'Grinsekatze' from their 2018 album 'Void Universes' their touch on 'Dub Of Aces' is deft, bringing the half time elements up to speed, but introducing percussion that is deliciously human in delivery, with every micro-fraction away from the quantized beat is a delicious morsel for the soul. 
'Dub Of Aces' is out on 02.09.19 from all the usual digital stockists.

When we think January, there are two words that come to mind: Cold innit?

Here at Lucidflow we have our sights firmly set on enduring this bizarre solid white rain that keeps falling from the sky, and getting through the part of the year where we don't have to walk around a radiator strapped to our chests. With this in mind, we decorated the Agile-Mastering.com studio with sand, palm trees, pictures of pure blue skies and locked Nadja in---with a years supply of coconuts---until she emerged with another entry in the Lucid Moments series.

Just close your eyes to the opening hip hop strains of Gene Farris and feel the thaw kick in. From there we journey through the most seductive aquatic grooves, lapping against your eardrums like waves up the shore. Serene moments from Lulu Rouge, Hatikvah, Charles Webster's take on Bliss' Wish U Were Here and Nadja's own meditative series carry you gently into your own lucid moment.

Once you are caught up in the rhythmic churn, the mix current starts to pick up momentum as we skip through some Lucidflow favourites from Helmut Ebritsch, Klartraum and Aka Aka, but never losing the mellow groove signifies this compilation.

We even have room to stick in some ambient moments from Scottish heavyweights Slam and the outstanding masters of atmospheric electronica, The Black Dog. Quality pedigree.
