This is an extended version of a mashup I did in my hardambient 1 mix. 

In this project, i only take loops from hardtechno, techno, gabber, trance, etc., tracks (except track n°1/42), to constitute an ambient/expe mix, at the edge of the rythmic noise sometimes. But whatever, the aim was to deconstruct the frame of the tracks to build sometimes totally different, with no possibility of identification between the tracks, which identities have been melted in the magma of the totality.

Este es el nuevo single que nos presenta Kbless, con Antxon Sagardui a la producción. En el, de manera poética y profunda, describe la relación humana con el poder como núnca se hizo antes, invitando a la reflexión más honesta sobre la actualidad, así como a observar nuestros miedos y su rol geopolítico. Un toque de atención para el ser humano que hará vibrar más de una conciencia, a mitad de camino entre el Bolero y el Reggae. 

Ilusiones no es una canción fácil de etiquetar, ya que establece un puente entre la electrónica actual y el reggae de raíz en la producción. Dos elementos muy diferentes, cuidadosamente pegados con Dub. Esta es la primera producción que se publica en este nueva etapa del sello, donde la combinación de roots reggae y techno será el punto de partida para un experimento que irá desarrollándose con cada release, enfocado mayormente en el soundsystem.

Antxon Sagardui Feat. Kbless - Ilusiones

Ralph Lawson and his 2020 Vision Recordings have created a vibrant trail of releases, making it one of the most loved and respected imprints in the industry. Here the landmark label continues its quest to present quality leftfield electronica to the dance world with LA based band ASHRR, who mark their debut on 20/20 in fine style, recruiting original dub pioneer Scientist into the studio to create a series of Live Dubs of ‘Fizzy’.

ASHRR was born in 2018 amidst the vibrant musical landscape of Los Angeles and is made up of Ethan Allen, Josh Charles, Steven Davis. Masterfully combining vocal harmonies that illuminate the euphoria of those hazy 70s grooves. Space disco, post-punk, electronica with touches of alternative soul. Think Roxy Music jamming with ESG on a warm sunny Sunday in Central Park, and you’ve got the vibe.

Hopeton Brown aka Scientist has been at the forefront of the dub reggae scene since being an integral engineer at the legendary Tubby’s Studio owned by King Tubby in Kingston, Jamaica way back in the ‘70s. Scientist went on to produce countless reggae hits at the equally renowned Channel One for artists including Johnny Clarke. Linval Thompson and Barrington Levy.

Two versions of the ‘Scientist Fizzy Dub’ grace the record with edits courtesy of Ralph Lawson and ASHRR themselves. On the flip, Felix Dickinson returns on disco dub duties with a previously unreleased extended version of ‘Fizzy’ following the release of the original remix on Crazy P Curate Vol. One that caused a whole heap of damage at festivals like Love International last summer.

The extended version is an epic 10-minute disco excursion that conjures up visions of ESG live at Paradise Garage. ASHRR also offer up a brand-new creation made for the dance floor and DJs in the form of their 'ASHRR Soundsystem Mix’ which serves as an exclusive treat on the digital package.

English story (french below) : 

I was meant to mix for a family wedding. So, I planned to mix some dub from my father’s roots collection. He died some years ago and I thought it could be a joyfyl wink to reunit us. But a drunken guy came and cut the music after just a few minutes. He thus put the « Madison » because they wanted « shitty music » to dance on, as he told me. Tired and upset, I went to sleep in the car, because my tent-mate snored too loudly. 
Rather than recording a mix which was not to be played, I selected four parts of what I prepared to do four mashups, so this moment could become something else to be shared with people I love. For each mashup, two of the four tracks come from my father’s collection, the other two are representative of my own influences. 

The mashups are made of bare loops extracted from each track as samples and then played with 4 decks alternatively.

Je devais mixer pour un mariage en famille. Du coup, j’avais prévu de mixer un peu de dub issu de la collection roots de mon père. Il est mort il y a quelques années, et j’ai pensé que ce serait un clin d’oeil joyeux pour nous réunir. Mais après seulement quelqes minutes, un gars bien allumé est venu couper le son directement. Il a mis le « Madison » car ils voulaient écouter ce qu’il a lui-même nommé « de la bonne grosse musique de merde » (sic) pour danser. Fatigué et un peu vexé, je suis parti me coucher dans la voiture, car mon compagnon de tente ronflait. 
Plutôt que d’enregistrer un mix qui ne devait pas être joué, j’ai choisi quatre parties dans ce que j’avais préparé que j’aimais bien, pour en faire quatre mashups, pour faire de ce moment quelque chose d’autre que je pourrais partager avec celleux que j’aime. La moitié de chaque mashup est composée de morceaux dub issus de la collection de mon père – l’autre moitié est issue de mes dernières influences. 

Les mashups sont purement constitués de boucles extraites de chaque morceau, comme des samples, qui sont ensuite jouées à quatre pistes alternativement.
