Bordeaux-based label Broken District is proud to announce the release of Theoric Proximity, the debut album from French producer and label co-founder Jus Jam. Following several well-received EPs, including the standout 90s Anxiety, this new 12-track project marks a turning point in both the artist’s personal journey and the label’s musical evolution.

Rooted in introspection and emotional depth, Theoric Proximity explores the notion of connection — physical and emotional proximity — and the complex, often subtle relationships we navigate in our everyday lives. It's a deeply personal work shaped by late-night sessions and a desire for sonic escapism.

Musically, the album blends ambient, jazz, UK-influenced club music, hip-hop, house, broken beat and soul into a cohesive, atmospheric journey. Though diverse in rhythm and form, the project retains a strong sense of identity, shaped by Jus Jam’s distinctive taste and production sensibility.

Rather than chasing trends or referencing specific styles, Theoric Proximity stems from a blank-slate approach, embracing intuition and emotional resonance over formula. Still, fans of artists like Anthony Naples, Andrea (Ilian Tape), Space Ghost, Hanna, James Blake, or Dreamcastmoe will likely find familiar textures and moods within the album’s palette.

Theoric Proximity represents a new milestone for Broken District, now confidently stepping into long-form storytelling through music. This debut album is an invitation to slow down, to drift, and to feel.

At the end of the European summer season, a living-room session prepared by the German duo Kahl & Kæmena(@kahl-kaemena) comes to us. They work together as a team since meeting in February 2015, while Kahl is responsible for the selection Kæmena adds her improvisations with her piano edits what is really exciting. Every time Kæmena is playing different which means their sets are never the same, even if they would again play the same songs.

This 97th edition is a one cut live-improvisation-session 97min based on the experiences of the summer festivals they played between June and August early this year. It's pretty much a pleasing delicate flavour compilation that aims to bring livingness from this festival summer tour together so we are sure you will not find anything similar out there.

Das Igelkarussell geht in die 40te Runde! 🌀🦔 
Wir freuen uns sehr Daniele aus Frankfurt dafür gewonnen zu haben. Er kommt selten zum Auflegen, wie er selbst sagte, daher ist es eine große Ehre für uns, da er so wenig Zeit dafür findet. Seit geraumer Zeit sorgt er mit seinem Team von Chameleonchast für Downtempo-Furore in FFM, sowohl mit ihrem Podcast-Channel, als auch mit tollen Veranstaltungen. Zuletzt änderten sie den Namen ihrer Seite in Talpa Records, auf dem sie in Zukunft mit Sicherheit den ein oder anderen interessanten Track releasen werden- wir sind auf jeden Fall gespannt was da noch kommen wird ☺️ 
Zusätzlich ist er Betreiber der Pizzeria Mancini in Frankfurt-Bornheim, wo nicht nur die Pizza Variationen besonders ausgefallen sind, sondern auch die musikalische Begleitung. Von Ladenöffnung bis zur Schließung läuft dort äußerst delikate Downtempo Musik- Allein deshalb solltet ihr dort mal vorbei fahren und dort eure Gaumen und Ohren in Einklang bringen. 
Der Mix von ihm wird euch auf eine entschleunigte Reise ins Traumland des Downtempo schicken. Die Beats und Rhythmen wirken hypnotisierend… Die Auswahl seiner Tracks sind sehr homogen und bilden ein rundes Gesamtbild. Feeling into what the music as the 'language of spirit' means to me, a sound story revealed itself honoring emotional depths and sounds that revel in the journey of coming home into sorrow, into joy, into contemplation. Music for me is the way I connect with and process what I feel, as I find it difficult sometimes to express it in words. Winter has arrived, the world is both living & dying, sleeping & awakening, and as I pay closer attention to reality, the inside and the outside are the same. This mix celebrated the bridge between those worlds, in love.

So it was my first time at ZBB and super excited to be playing a downtempo hybrid set with my analogue synth. Unfortunately, I came to the castle with a lot of personal heavy load and was not ready for partying at all. In fact, I was sitting in the morning before travelling from Stockholm to Berlin and was about to write Alexander Paulski (@alexanderpaulski) that I would not be making it. However, eventually I did. So my tension, arriving at Berlin Südkreuz with my keyboard in a reusable shopping bag, was high. But as soon as I saw the first hippies waiting for the bus shuttle I started to breathe. I immediately felt welcomed and home. The shuttle to the castle turned out to be tons of fun but loooong due to the bus driver not really finding his way there. Finally arriving at Schloss Beesenstedt, the entire bus was ready for mysterious magic adventures that were about to start ✨

Back to Friday night and I am supposed to open the dancefloor of the bar with some trippy groovy downtempo, but as it often happens, a DJ wizard (@jamesfish) pulls out his stick and started a fantastic .... upbeat Hip-Hop set! What to do? My thoughts were all over the place. Should I play a totally different genre because nobody wants to hear downtempo after upbeat hip-hop? As it turns out, however, the burners were ready for downtempo and I had the pleasure to play at the amazing dj-booth of the bar in front of a full dancefloor. Thank you to everyone who danced. I was in complete flow during the set and felt so connected with everyone dancing (hope you felt it too) - so much, that I could not remember what had been played. So perhaps you would like to relisten too, then here is the downtempo set from the ZBB bar, Friday 23h00-01h00.

Experimental Teleportation Device with 200 seats to transport us all to the Burn of our dreams. ✴️ We call it: The Failed Teleport Experiment. We were a bit less than 200 burner souls enjoying the FTE burn in Germany, great event in which we had workshops and 24/24h music & live shows. 

Together we'll create and appreciate art 🎨, immerse ourselves in inspiring performances 🎭, dance beneath the stars💃and share the deepest connections. We're guided by the 10 Burning Man Principles. This is a purely participatory event. We encourage you to conceptualize, be crafty and get your hands dirty!

KOSMOZOO was happy to participate in bringing the sound system as well as the cabaret tent. This is my set played on Saturday night before the burn, a downtempo cosmic & melodic set. 

The set was also played on shoutingfire radio as the closing set for Burning Man multiverse 2020.
