asbo, born Carl Garsbo, has established himself as a sensation across electronic music with his transformative, emotional sound. Following his second album The Making of a Paracosm, released on ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective and Counter Records, Kasbo made his highly-anticipated return in 2024 with singles, “The Way You Had Me” and “Alive.”
 
Ever a creative mind, for Kasbo, the past years of isolation were quick to transform into an era of curiosity and introspection. Time spent away from tour and at home in Sweden galvanized him to turn to what he knew best – music. Technically, a cigüapo doesn't exist... A cigüapa is a folkcloric icon from where I come from, Dominican Republic. In a westernized context, she falls under the succubus family. Yikes. Needless to say, I was quickly convinced when my best friend at the time pushed me to adopt the - non-existent - artist name of cigüapo (seeing this creature with backward-facing feet is exclusively/historically female, super cool, and I could throw in the o because yes omg so creative).
