Blooming Heart gathering.. ahh my favorite type of event. It's basically a blissed utopia on an island in the NW in the summer. Doesn't get much better for me. This set was late night until shortly before sunrise.. outdoors by the tea lounge. I listen to ambient music about as much as I listen to music with beats so this is a big part of my life, stoked to share it with you! Luke Mandala, Mandala Affect - Chill Set at BLOOMING HEART 2016

October 2018, Moontribe Full Moon Gathering. Since I started playing at Moontribe in 2006, I haven't yet missed a set I committed to playing. For this gathering, I happened to be completely ill with a chest/head cold...apart from my set, I spent the majority of my time out in the desert huddled in my tent with a box of tissue and a kit full of cold meds. 

Standing up for close to 2 hours straight for my set, I just about fainted after I played my last track. But I made it! In honor of that moment, I am calling this one "Echinacea". Some gentle bass music, psychill, and other eclectic tunes that are pleasing to my ear and my brain.

Luke’s dynamic live act includes playing a mixture of electronic and acoustic music while mixing in multiple live wind instruments and live drumming. His lifelong devotion to community dance medicine started at age 14 in 1998 when he started to DJ at northwest USA raveriffic events! He then started touring the world and releasing hundreds of songs released with a large number of the biggest labels in the world like Selador, Desert Hearts, Digital Structures, Dreaming Awake, Desert Trax, Booka Shade Music. 

This is deep piscean scorpio music, sprinkled with unusual sounds, unexpected twists, eclectic mix of global sounds, various tempos and grooves. It reflects stories of love-driven culture and open-minded ideas.  Depending on the crowd, the sets can vary from being pretty and uplifting to deep, dark, and primal, although they typically feature melodic and atmospheric textures infused with a lot of emotion.  Luke also has a functional (natural, root cause) medicine practice as this weaves so beautiful with dance and music medicine.
