Ground-breaking producer, DJ and musician Ikonika (Sara Chen) has teamed up with EMI Production Music to produce a new album of music primed for use in TV, film and elsewhere. Hyperdub’s Ikonika uses her trademark dark electronics and beats in creating something which sits perfectly alongside her previous work. Following on from 2017’s album ‘Distractions’ Sara has composed 16 new tracks of sci-fi dub, hip hop and electronics that could easily soundtrack an (as yet) unmade futuristic video game.

The album will be released on 9th March 2018

Ikonika has been at the forefront of the UK’s music scene since her 2010 debut album ‘Contact, Love, Want, Have’ (Hyperdub) and has blazed a trail across dubstep, bass music and experimental electro with subsequent releases ‘Aerotropolis’ (2013 – Hyperdub) and Distractions (2017 – Hyperdub). She has successfully collaborated with artists as diverse as Jessy Lanza, Jammz and Andrea Galaxy. Described as “an innovative rule-breaker” by Pitchfork Ikonika has created a new album that references her previous material while also drawing greater influence from favourite pieces of Video game music by seminal composers like Yuzo Koshiiro.

The album is the fourth album in collaboration with the publishing roster of Domino Publishing (The Publishing arm of Domino Recording co – home of Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Four Tet, Animal Collective etc) following on from MH 140 Domino presents: Folk, MH 159 Domino Presents: Dance and MH 179 Domino presents: Electronic. Artists included so far have been Ikonika, Luke Abbott, The Memory Band, Tunng,
