A1. kicks off with“That Real Live” a spoken word riff from a classic New York film, depicting a tale of the Warriors street gang traversing the five boroughs in an effort to get home, sets the tone for this analogue excursion. Wrapped in “Abacus” synthetics and dub echo guitars. Warm, rich deepness for your solar plexus!
A2. “Ignition sequence starts…” Channeling “Sun Ra” Austin cooks up a hypnotic lo-end wiggler filled with arpeggios and synths, topped off with haunting melodies and rhythmic nuances. To quote “Sun Ra” ….Space is the place “
B1. “Blacktronica”… a homage to the Belleville 3, The Detroit second wave, Wally Badarou, Herbie Hancock, George Clinton and all the melanated electronic experimenters past and present. Abacus concocts some machine funk for your soul.
B2. Rounding out the Analogue Stories is “In4mation”, a play on word structure begging the question “Do we all get the same information?” With subtle grooves ,warm stabbing synths and a fluted rushes of melody , this one will make you say ummm....

Each day and night are different, the people, the mood, the emotions... This was planed to be an emotional freedom ride but life is not always happening the way it is planed. So the result of this session is an "emotional ride". Openness is the key and accepting the situation as it is, seeing the good in it, seeing the opportunity to learn and grow... The night of 14.12.2024 was an emotional ride and so was the whole year. I am thankful for each lesson I've learned and there were many! Thankful for every night I was invited to my beloved Kasheme to express my emotions with music. Thankful for the people I've met and who understand what story I am trying to tell... And yes the cover picture is on purpose because seeing life from another perspecitve sometimes can help ;-) wishing you a happy ending of 2024 and a good start into a transformative new year! Let's do this!

Years ago I had the opportunity to meet Roy Ayers after a performance here in Chicago. I asked him if he would be interested in me interviewing him for my radio show Past Present & Future on Swank Society Radio and he said yes. We exchanged info and here's what took place after I gave him a call. 
After listening to this recently, I'm still buggin that I was having a conversation with him over the phone. Aside from being one of the greatest music artists of all time, he was always humble and kind. I'm so grateful for his energy and his musical vibes.

His deep-house DJ sets can be best described as “ancient future soul music.” He’s spun alongside a litany of iconic DJs and musicians that include DJ Spinna, Rich Medina, Quentin Harris, Danny Krivit, Tony Humphries, Osunlade, Carlos Mena, Barbara Tucker, Julie Dexter, Donnie, Tamara Wellons, Les Nubians, Amel Larrieux, After 7, and Wunmi. His lifelong connection to music transcends the body, mind, and soul.
 
He is also the founder of the long-running sacred dance gathering, MOJÙGBÁ, which began in 2013 and based in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York. Aphrosoul is also a cofounder of two annual festivals — HEAL & RELEASE DC and Solsdance. Both festivals focus on holistic health and wellness via the mediums of art, music and dance.
 
In 2017, Aphrosoul returned to his radio broadcasting roots, which began at KPFT 90.1FM and KTRU 96.1FM  between 1999 and 2002. He currently curates a weekly broadcast radio show on WPFW 89.3FM and a bi-weekly internet radio show on Eaton Radio
 
Aphrosoul takes people on a journey back to their divine selves through the Yoruba spiritual practice of ancestral reverence and guidance, using uplifting vibrational frequencies to facilitate love and healing through the power of music.
