Call it ambient, call it techno, call it what you will. Norwegian producer Snasen Makes futuristic avant-guarde music thats as delicate and intricate as it is experimental. Due for release on Sellout! Music, his forthcoming Grok EP is the third offering from the man himself and features three tracks that delve deep into the sonic realms of experimentation all the while maintaing a wholesome sense of atmosphere. This mix is meditation music for the mind. Dive in and dream on.

"I have one recurring dream. It happens in different places and with different characters but the subject is always the same: ZOMBIES! Ever since I saw the first remake of Night of the Living Dead as a teenager, I’ve had the undead hunt me in my sleep. It often revolves around my loved ones and almost every time I hold a shotgun (THE quintessential zombie mauling device). Even though my family and friends usually get eaten alive or killed in gruesome ways, I always wake up feeling invigorated and happy. I guess popular culture destroyed me after all."

Slumber Session: Snasen

Known only by his moniker, 23-year-old Londoner @CatchingFliesMusic caught our attention over a year ago with The Long Journey Home EP. The illusive DJ and producer makes cinematic dreamscapes that sit quite nicely alongside those of 2014 tour buddy Bonobo, and, with a debut album in the works and a third EP about to surface, our appetites have been whet by the sweet nostalgia of Quiet Night. A fan of i-D’s Slumber Session series, Catching Flies has put together one of his own and it’s one of our all-time favourites. “I’ve always been inspired by soundtracks and interested in the impact music has on picture and vice versa, so the idea was to create a soundtrack to the story of someone’s life.” CF explains. “It was nice to completely disregard the dancefloor and make something purely for home listening. The tunes are a mix of new and old and the idea is that you’re taken on a journey.” This slumber session is a soundtrack to the film of your imaginary life. Drift away and live vicariously.

Slumber Session: Catching Flies

London duo Oh Wonder are known for their luscious productions that have topped Hypemachine an incredible six times already. Releasing one song a month for a year, Anthony and Josephine are currently on their sixth release – with their seventh due 1st March. As if they’re not busy enough, the pair have found time to put together a Slumber Session for i-D, featuring not only a couple of their own awesome compositions, but also offerings from Chilly Gonzalez and James Vincent McMorrow. Slumber Session: Oh Wonder

Slipping us into sleep mode this week is the sound of NY producer Praveen Sharma aka Braille. Also making beats as one half of the dreamy duo Sepalcure, Braille is no stranger to a beautiful beat. Having already released on the likes of Rush Hour Records and Scuba’s Hotflush imprint, Braille ventures into the deep and occasionally melodic realms of house and techno. His Everyone’s Crazy EP dropped last month via Friends Of Friends and has today announced his debut Mute Swan LP on the label. As we look forward to the release of the album dropping 5th May we get into this exclusive mix from the man himself.  Be prepared.

Having trouble sleeping? You're in need of ASMR crumples, repetitive ringing and a dreamy selection of weird and wonderfully mundane samples, vacuum-packed into one handy mix from Lung Dart. Fresh from soundtracking Simone Rocha’s AW15 show, the London duo were keen to help you all find inner peace through sleep, with their own brand of sedated experimental pop. For more magic, Tim and James' debut EP, Ebbs, is out on 27th April via Happy Valley Records and full of twisted sax samples and sad vocals that're hard not to pout to.
