‘Dancers’ marks the fifth release by Yan Wagner under the politically inspired, satirical pseudonym he first coined in 2014 – The Populists. It includes four cuts of ruggedly crafted, dark disco, electronica and leftfield dance. A return to Lumière Noire after his track ‘Prehistoric Lemurs’ was released on their VA ‘From Above Vol.2 ‘ in 2020. Yan has most recently collaborated with Gesaffelstein on his latest album ‘GAMMA’ as a vocalist and has scored the soundtrack for ‘Animale’ a film that will be shown at the 63rd edition of Cannes Film Festival during the closing of ‘La Semaine de la Critique’.

Our yearly compilation returns with our fourth installment, Polygon, a set of 8 tracks that, as usual, go in different and intriguing musical directions.

We once again welcome a brand-new group of artists to the label: Virtue Signal (@virtue_signal) starts it off with a big chord carpenter-ish track; Bustié (@bustiemusic) follows with a heavy-bass electro track; Alpha Sect (@alphasectmusic) feat. The Hanged Man gets dark with an EBM smasher; Cavalry Stone (@cavalrystone) picks up the tempo with an arpeggiated heavy-hitter; Clock Serum continues with a high-tempo Industrial/EBM smasher; NiKiT (@nikit) offers an electro monster; Jack Carel (@jakovc) delivers a deep electro beast; and Gem Wallow (@gemsekime) wraps things up with a driving leftfield psychedelic number.

He'd holed up on a bench at the top of the cliff, one that gave him a perfect viewpoint of the unending waterline. The breeze whipped at his hair and the tassel on his scarf, he inhaled deeply, breathing in the fresh sea air. It was soothing up here, there was something so incredibly freeing about it, almost as if he were above earth and looking down on it...

London-based label Inside Out start tying up their run of 2022 releases with a new EP from Tecwaa titled Future Sonic Luminaries. The fellow London residing producer follows up releases on Hoga Nord and Futureboogie with his first outing for Stevie R & Alex Zed's label, which features three cuts that veer in different sonic directions. There's hypnotic downtempo and acid-driven breaks and bass, all of which are tied together by a cosmic atmosphere.

Launched as a new project from the team behind the emerging New York party series, the new label will offer a platform for Shahar and Motum to curate and showcase the event series’ growing sound on a global scale, with the first release landing on 10th May 2024.
A fast-rising event series at the heart of the New York house landscape, RISQUÉ has quickly made a splash as a fresh addition to one of the most iconic nightlife circuits in electronic music. Founded by DJ/producer Shahar alongside close friend Motum, the collective and party series have already hosted notable events across the city, from their launch at Somewhere Nowhere to their home at the impressive Artspace at Public Hotel, and the next move welcomes the launch of their very own label, RISQUÉ RECORDS.
Showcasing an expansion of the series’ sound, the first release welcomes a melting pot of influences spanning the Big Apple and beyond as Pablo Romero and Diego Teran unite. A fixture of NYC’s underground house scene for over a decade and founder of Archivio Record Store, Romero is a product of his Latin roots and influences merged with the raw, gritty attitude of the city, while Teran’s style draws from his Venezuelan roots, infusing them with more minimal soundscapes - showcased via his role as a resident of PARTAI with appearances across the globe. Here, the two join forces in the studio to launch the new label project, delivering a quartet of classy cuts across their ‘Cabellera Blanca’ EP on 10th May 2024.

We say that ‘music was better’, or ‘nightlife just isn't the same anymore’, and that we wish we could go back to the Studio 54 days. RISQUÉ brings back those vibes with a new-school twist. The title cut ‘Cabellera Blanca’ is loopy and groovy as rolling drums and floaty melodies ebb and flow beneath male Latin vocal interludes for a crisp excursion, while ‘By Water In Dumbo’ is drenched in warmth as rich keys, hazy chords, and jazzy touches combine effortlessly. Next, the pair combine with regular NYC fixture Mike Berardi for ‘Complice’, bringing skippy percussion arrangements and vibrant bass patterns, before delivering one final cut in the form of ‘Negrita La verdad’, with its stripped back, sleazy groove made for those early hour moments.

The meeting between Vleks, Cali Burton and H is nothing new since they have been working on music for years. In the same way, sharing gigs around the Mexican national territory.
The Jam Version, as the title describes, was composed by the three of them, recorded in a live session and mixed by H, while Vleks and Cali Burton put together their own versions with a more techno tinge to take this encounter to the dance floor.
