Mike's musical palette is a vibrant fusion of Tech, Funky, and Bass House - a sonic tapestry that has resonated across countless nightclubs, festivals, and home stereos.

Born and raised in the dynamic landscape of Houston, TX, Mike found his calling in the pulsating beats of electronic music. After moving to Idaho in the early '90s, he planted the seeds of the rave movement in Boise, where he became known for his unique Funky Jackin' Tech House sound & original productions.

InStereo Recordings and Beyond

The journey westward led Mike Balance to the heart of the electronic music hub – Los Angeles, CA. Here, he became an integral part of InStereo Recordings, joining forces with the legendary DJ Dan to manage the label for nearly a decade. Their collaborative efforts will go down as some of the best high-powered Funky House that's ever come out of the west coast!

Mike's discography has earned him a well-deserved place among some of House music's best sonic engineers & beat scientists. Today, Mike remains dedicated to perfecting the art of hot jams and in recent years he's had high-charting releases on Beatport spanning the realms of Tech House, Funky House, and Breaks. CHIXY GUAP aka Kelsey is a DJ and producer who channels her sound from the trapical ratchetverse, seamlessly cutting through genres from breaks to baile funk to UK club and beyond. A fan of forward-thinking bass, fresh world sounds and 🎶 that generally makes you go “DAAMMMMNNN," she has a highly intuitive way of keeping the room bumpin'. Since starting her DJ career in 2021, CHIXY's already been fortunate to play well-known venues and festivals across the US, Mexico, and more.

CHIXY GUAP is originally from the suburbs of Minneapolis, MN, where hot music is the only thing that keeps people warm in the cold. Kelsey's been privileged to travel extensively and her selects reflect the wide range of sounds and voices she’s been exposed to. She’s particularly fond of femme-forward rap, music in Spanish and Portuguese, sounds from the African Diaspora and basically anything underground that makes your chest vibrate. She also worked the Ampitheatre Stage at Shambhala Music Festival for several years and been influenced by dozens of up-and-coming bass connoiseurs and legends alike.
