This is my third song. I wanted it to be more of a rock song than the previous ones I have composed. Did I succeed? I also wanted to explore other resources my voice offers such as the laughter and the monologue you hear in the bridge. I hope you like it and feel free to make recommendations on how I can improve. About the lyrics and their context: The story told in this song occurs in a fantasy world and should be interpreted as such. The story is inspired by historical events, specifically, the witch hunt carried out by the Spanish Inquisition a couple of centuries ago. This song serves as a critique against religion and the damage that it can do to humanity and, selectively, to women.

The Sadness of Gaia

(ABAJO, EN ESPAÑOL)

I started writing the lyrics of this song back in 2015 when I started getting interested in music, specifically in singing. I wrote the lyrics and the melody based on a backing track made by a band I was preparing to audition for. In the end, I was not selected to be in the band and the backing track was not mine so I just gave up what I had written. Well, time passed and I wanted to use the lyrics and the melody in some way so I decided to make a backing track for it myself.

Back in 2015 I had just read 1984 and was obsessed with it so I wrote the lyrics with the book on my mind. At the same time, I was inspired (not in a positive way) by the situation in my country. The lyrics are then a cry against events that disgust me and that I and others have to swallow in our daily lives.

I know there is a lot to improve technically but I am glad about the result considering that I do not have any formation in music production (or in music at all). Feel free to give feedback for future releases and thank you for listening!

Comencé a escribir la letra de esta canción en 2015 cuando empecé a interesarme en la música, específicamente en el canto. Escribí la letra y la melodía basándome en una pista instrumental hecha por una banda para la que audicioné. Al final, no fui seleccionada para estar en la banda y la pista instrumental no era mía, así que renuncié a lo que había escrito. Bueno, pasó el tiempo y quería usar la letra y la melodía de alguna manera, así que decidí hacer una pista instrumental propia.

En 2015, acababa de leer 1984 y estaba obsesionada con el libro, así que escribí la letra con él en mente. Al mismo tiempo, me inspiró (no de manera positiva) el presente que acontece en mi país. La letra, entonces, hace referencia a los acontecimientos que me repugnan, y que yo y varias personas más somos expuestos en nuestra vida diaria.

En cuanto a la técnica, sé que hay mucho que mejorar pero me alegro del resultado considerando que no tengo ninguna formación en producción musical (ni en música en absoluto). No dudes en enviarme tus recomendaciones sobre lo que piensas que puedo mejorar en futuros trabajos. Gracias por escuchar!

This is my second song. I was a bit more daring on this one and tried to experiment more with some ideas I wanted to put up. It was a good experiment for me to grow and evolve in my creation process. Yes; I know that only two songs would not indicate an objective trend but it felt so for me.

About the song: This song is a tribute to my friend's band, Dzed. He has this amazing instrumental song called "Love at the End of the World" and I wanted to create lyrics for it so I started with that. Time passed and I was having a rush of ideas for a song so I decided to use the lyrics and make my own song. The main idea is based on Dzed's song, and that is why the title. Other artists that influenced the music are Ghost and Linked Horizon.

Esta es mi segunda canción. Puedo decir que me atreví a experimentar más con differentes ideas en esta canción. Fue un buen experimento para crecer y evolucionar en mi proceso de creación. Sí; sé que solo dos canciones no indicarían una tendencia objetiva, pero me sentí así.

Historia de la canción: esta canción es un tributo a Dzed, la banda de un amigo muy estimado. Él tiene esta increíble canción instrumental llamada "Love at the End of the World" y yo quería crear una letra para ella, así que comencé con ello. Pasó el tiempo y sentí que estaba teniendo una avalancha de ideas para una canción, así que decidí usar la letra y hacer mi propia canción.
