For their first ever double-LP outing Razor-N-Tape presents POOLS, with a sun-drenched and laid-back collection of tunes called Innertubes. POOLS, the moniker of Los Angeles duo Thee Mike Bee and DJ Morsecode, craft a sound that conjures up the easy going swagger and soulful grit of the left-most coast. The first two sides of original versions read like an album, perfect for a lazy Sunday rooftop BBQ with beers, bros and blunts, (although no doubt some of these gems will find their way into DJs' warm-up and boom-bap sets). Sides C & D elevate the juncture to dance floor level, with smooth and varied remixes from RNT stalwarts Luvless and DJ Vas, plus label newcomers thatmanmonkz and Junktion.

In the span of only a couple of months, we’ve been to Australia and back almost more times than we can count. If there was any doubt before then it’s completely erased now, as the land Down Under really is one of the hotbeds for house music at the moment. @beatsofnonationradio is an Australian radio show bringing you "weird and wonderful sounds from all around the globe" and it is curated by Dom Bird, Jad Lee and Sean Bate as well as their regular guests, both local and international. Launched in September of 2015 the radio show has hosted 49 episodes thus far with guests ranging from the likes of Urulu and Fouk to the Lobster Theremin crew.

Chord Memory Band is a recent collaboration between Michael Medlycott (from the band Vulture Street Tape Gang) and Dom Bird (Beats Of No Nation co-founder and member of the live disco 4 piece Mitzi). The pair have cooked up a four track record of analog tastiness entitled « Third Eye EP ». Today, we are giving you the first taste of the B1 track ‘Donostia’. This mid-tempo jam is propped up by some vibraphone chords and crisp percussion. Swelling synth work and keyboard lines adorn the piece, echoing and reverberating into the distance, creating a remarkable sense of depth. A warm bass line adds support but doesn’t overpower the mysterious air created by the interwoven melodies of the various instruments. From strings and bells to plucked synths and keys, there’s a little bit of everything all working together in this finely concocted, ear-pleasing potion.

With his stripped-down emotional love for music and kind soul, Leipzig-bound beatsmith and all round top geezer Luvless has been steadily cementing his reputation as one of contemporary house music’s finest.

Luvless is known for his work with Rose Records – a label he started with four other friends back in 2011 – and a smattering of appearances on several other labels. slamming down dusty disco edits as well as athomspheric house belters. Since 2017 he’s been focussing on his new project Velours Records. a vinyl outlet for different avenues of the Luvless sound and guest appearances by friends.

His music has been described as sweet, gentle even, but banging at the same time. It sometimes pays homage to the old Kerry days with extra magic dust sprinkled on top.
