La música va desde sonidos percusivos en cámara lenta hasta líneas de bajo ácidas y sonidos modulados que reverberan profundamente en la mente.

Bytes are super excited to announce the reissue of the killer 1990s electro EPs by SEM (aka Damon Baxter, who would go on to record as Deadly Avenger). The original 12”s have been out of print since they were released on J Saul Kane’s Electron Industries imprint in 1995 (Phox EP) and 1996 (The Demon EP). They have never been available digitally. With the original masters M.I.A., the tracks have been lovingly remastered from vinyl by Keith Tenniswood, who as part of Two Lone Swordsmen (alongside the late Andrew Weatherall), knows a thing or two about producing top-notch electro music. One of the most consistent new labels around, Cyphon Recordings, marks double figures with another standout release that gleans from the past but faces the future. This time they look to the talents of Emotive Technology, a new alias from Chilean Massiande who provides a five-track EP of machine-wielding, soul-rousing techno from across the spectrum. Although this may be the first release under his new moniker, Massiande has spent the last decade putting out productions with labels such as Housewax, Phonica, Freerange and Groovin. 
 
Firing on all cylinders from the get-go, ‘Rise’ kicks off the Walk Into The Light EP. A hyperspace melding of new beat, Italo and arp-operating techno that opens out into a slice of peak-time revelry. The swirling textures of ‘It’s On’ follow, pushing you into the next dimension. A hypnotic, entrancing, and arresting heads-down powerhouse. Crunchy and considered it's the kind of strobe-stuttering basement jam that turns heads inside out. Two Detroit-leaning tracks ‘Your Zone’ and ‘Walk Into The Light’ are up next. The former is a heavyweight machine workout. Layered synth lines and crisp drum programming transfix, as that grooving low-end powers bodies into bedlam. The latter, a Motor-City-influenced tour de force. One that sees Massiande recode the circuitry to hit with a piano-laden stunner, balancing power and presence, with emotion and nuance.  Closing out ‘The Swing’ sucks you in deeper. A resonating world of synth stabs, pulsating bass lines and atmospheric electronics.

Piscolabis II is a super sonic fan where we find the organic and robotic atmosphere of Piscolabis Part I and of course the sound experimentations of Golden Bug. The 10 new tracks presented on this sequel are even wilder and stranger, in the best sense of the word. The rhythms are heavy, the guitars of Lionel from The Limiñanas are razor sharp and the distorted grooves of the drum machines carry curious electronic impulses.

The introductory track “ Paradis ” with its choral, fairy tale and epic atmosphere, gives way to a series of slow, raw and bewitching tracks, such as “ Red Wolf ” featuring Phoebe Coco , the heady and mechanical “ Ricochet ”, “ L'Effet Domino ” carried by the voice of Anna Jean of the band Juniore , “ Toupie ” which takes us on chloroformed, hypnotic electronic highway , the psychedelic “ Hi No Tori ” with japanese guest Vega Voga , the retro-futuristic “ Autobahn ” embodied by the voice of Ruben Kielmannsegge , “ Poc a Poc ”, which plunges us into the world of acid-western and “ Boomerang ”, surfing the wave of dub in shamarnic hues.

Bad Boy Flow

Producer Plastico has been experimenting and playing for a long time, with a unique sound. Now he lands on Melómana Records with Ghetto House, an album consists of four original tracks and a remix of the great Alejandro Paz. The album, oriented to the dance floor, is presented with the firm intention of giving a necessary and demanding twist to the dancefloor. The whole of this album is the summary of many days fiddling with exceptional analog synthesizers, until finding a sound full of color, organic and meandering, which manages to filter through each pore of the skin until we are completely electrified. Each track gets the listener out of himself, open his mind and light the flame of hope, in a world where it seems that he has lost all idea of the future. And more, in a situation like the one we are experiencing, such an album is a breath of fresh air. A homage to the world of the night where Franz plies his trade.
