Senhora d'Azenha is an interpretation of an ancient song and prayer from the lands of Beira Baixa, passed down to Bandua by the cantadeira Idalina Gameiro from Penha Garcia.

Senhora d’Azenha belongs to a centuries-old Portuguese tradition of Carpideiras—professional mourning women who wept and sang for the dead. Once an activity deemed unsuitable for men, we now embrace this ritual in a world perpetually dying and renewing itself, honouring a practice that remains profoundly relevant.

Nigerian singer Azuka Anthony Moweta hails from Asaba, Delta state. He has excelled for years as a composer, a lead, and a backup singer, with great Live performance skills. His style of music could be best described as Ekobe music, fused with Igbo Highlife, rendered with his Asaba accent which give his music a distinct feel different from what we’ve heard around before now.

UMOJA is a boundary-pushing DJ and production duo from Haarlem, the Netherlands, made up of Job André de la Porte and Jeffrey Bok. The DJ set from Hadra Festival 2024 Main Stage, biggest psytrance festival in France with over 10,000 attendees and one of the oldest and most established psychedelic gatherings in Europe. I played on Sunday morning starting 7:00 AM, last day of the festival. Twilight vibes in the beginning, slowly driving the audience into a deeper more settled sunny sound. Exploring as usually various grooves and rhythms, faithfully reflecting my eclectic tastes in music and my versatile approach to mixing. A journey that starts at 148 BPM and ends at 142.
