Following last year's revered Silicon, Danny Daze releases his second for ULTRAMAJIC - Dual.

Of Cuban descent and raised in Miami, Daze grew up steeped in b-boy culture before beginning his exploration into the electronic music realms.

Praised for his diversity, his vision is to break sonic boundaries, whilst preserving music's integrity, both in the studio and behind the decks.

2014 saw Daze step up a level, with releases on Kompakt, Ellum and his first release for ULTRAMAJIC, which came through meeting Jimmy Edgar on the experimental scene, via labels including M3rck, Warp and Schematic. He also stepped back into the fashion world, scoring music for the Song for the Mute clothing brand.

Daze began 2015 with 'Four' - a collaboration EP on the intriguing new label Omnidisc. He also began a new experimental monthly podcast series entitled Sunday Morning, and recently delivered a dark and beautiful remix for Marc Houle's Talk to me Baby on Minus.

Next up is his second for ULTRAMAJIC, Dual, representing two facets of Daze's sound, including the hypnotic frequencies of 'Ready2Go' versus the striking warehouse of 'Rhythm Box'.
"On 'Ready2Go' I wanted to make a track that is driving and influenced by dryness. The bassline and synth bell tone are very dry and represent a Detroit techno sound that has always influenced me. With 'Rhythm Box', I wanted to make a pounding techno record with good drums. The vocal influence came from an old movie, called 'Liquid Sky', one of my go-to movies for inspiration.“

We are happy to present Misoo from italy, who is known for his versatile techno productions. After his huge remix for Marc Troit’s ’1210 Feeling’ he shows up again on Drowne Records with his ’Red Lights’ EP. Coming to light with two original tracks and two remixes by the german techno-stalwart Krenzlin & the austrian techno-mistress Verona Kramer, this release covers many facets of techno. 

The title track 'Red Lights' comes up with a short intro, before a sweet offbeat-accentuated groove predetermines the tracks direction. Piercing one-note synthstabs and warm strings reinforce the tracks melodic character and create an uplifting mood! Well placed snarefires make tension, and bright rides enlighten the tracks structure, while classy cowbells remind on days which have been long gone by, but not forgotten! 

Follow-up ’Transfer’ starts with bulbous kickdrums, a tonal bassline and driving low percs, which lay the foundation for a unique techno track. Sharp hihats chop an offbeat-accentuation and additional tops start layering to tighten ’Transfer’, while powerful crashes and rides strike at the right time! Propelling percussions back-up the groove while electrifying synths break through the soundscape and bristle with energy before submerging again. 

Krenzlin , who is deeply rooted into the infamous Tresor/Berlin, boils it down with his conceptual 909 rework of ’Red Lights’, and takes no prisoners. His rework storms ahead right from the beginning and uses the originals strings and synths to transfer the uplifting mood very well! Tribal percussions clank back and forth while the beloved 909 ride bristles with energy, and confirms Krenzlin’s re-definition as a tune to blow the roof off! 

Last but not least, Krenzlin teamed up with Verona Kramer to put hands on Misoo’s ’Transfer’ too. Their remix deploys powerful groove-accentuations and organic percussions alongside nerve-wrecking rhythms. The electrifying synths, known from the original, shove themselves in the foreground and push the excitement to the max, before the remix detonates again! 

In conclusion the 'Red Lights EP' comes along as a versatile release for the peaktime hours, and represents Drowne Records love for the complexity of underground techno music. It reaches from melodic techno to unforgivingly hard-hitting rhythms, and leaves space for different moods too!

Tackling the highlights of Nick Höppner's recent full-length Folk is rock solid BR fav, The Black Madonna, who has (surprise, surprise!) turned it into a stormer. Accompanied, as usual, by an eminently "Relate"-able message of humble gratitude, the real calling cards here are the rising, rousing synths that wouldn't sound out of place on a vintage Severed Heads 12". We're informed that it's a Panorama Bar melter, which makes sense: what begins an inviting outstretched palm winds up a slamming clenched fist.

The Folk remix 12" is out very soon, via Ostgut Ton. Keep eyes peeled.

There's not really much else to say about this one. The names dropped in the title alone lets your ears know what they're in store for.

Detroit's Burden brothers, more commonly known as Octave One, have been making classic techno from their roots since 1990 – and, much to our pleasure, have continued to produce, DJ and play sensational live sets as though no time has passed. 25 years on, their music still fuels the dancefloors of 2nd gen. techno lovers, as well as being picked up and reworked by modern dance music's most valuable players –  of which Paul Woolford is most certainly one.

When asked about his "Lose Myself" rework, Paul shared that Octave One and their 430 West label "have been inspirations to me for so many years. We met through mutual friends and immediately connected, following various gigs together globally. It was an honour to be invited to work on something for the Detroit label. My intention was to bring out the soulful edge of Octave One's sound and place it within the framework of a track that would work towards the end of the night." André Hommen and Gerd Janson have remixed Tensnake’s ‘The Walk / Keep On Talking'. Forthcoming on Tensnake’s own label True Romance, TREP010 'The Walk / Keep on Talking' Remixes will be available on both digital and vinyl from the 14th December. It's arguably the label's biggest remix package since Duke Dumont and Ewan Pearson remixed 'Love Sublime'. 

The Pete Tong approved André Hommen - also the creative producer and label manager of Dennis Ferrer's Objektivity imprint - has remixed ‘The Walk’ on the A-side. A deep, minimalistic beat drives his remix and a smart breakdown introduces the melody from Tensnake’s original, pushing all the original elements to higher heights. 

'Running Back' label boss Gerd Janson’s ‘Keep On Talking’ RAW mix is set against powerful drums and acid-tinged synths, with a piano-led breakdown echoing the original melody. The Panorama Bar resident and celebrated producer delivers a unique cut formed of several retro influences to provide a cool new twist on Tensnake’s upbeat original. The vinyl release also include’s Gerd’s beats-only version in the ‘Gerd Janson RAW beats mix”.

Finally we've made it and we're proud to announce that we've reached a milestone that every label aims for: the one hundredth release in a continous sequence of catalogue numbers. And what a journey it has been over the course of the past eight years. To celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime event no-one less than Marco Resmann himself comes up with a dedicated 12“ single that's not only named „100“ but also comes as a special gold vinyl edition plus gold label prints and seethrough packaging that makes this record stick out amongst many in each and every vinyl lovers collection as well as in every DJ case. The original version of „Hundert“ is a big room monster of a TechHouse tune, providing maximum tension through scattered shakers, carefully arranged synth sweeps and long, strident build ups introducing dark, psyched out and proggy bass and midrange warps leading towards an ultimate climax whenever this tune is hammered through a club rig. On the flipside we see the 'Jubiläums Mix' of „Hundert“ following intense spiralling basslines all through the course of the night whilst layers and layers of ecstatic stabs and a continuous swell of uplifting, positive synths introduces crowds to high-octane levels of buzzing dancefloor energy. What a blast.

Biography :
Born out of a deep friendship in 2013, Möd3rn was established as a live act channeling the raw energy of techno through pure improvisation. The project was initially founded by Electric Rescue, later joined by Maxime Dangles and Traumer. Eventually, Kmyle and Moteka joined the ensemble. Together, they transcend individual artistry to create a shared musical experience, where every performance becomes a unique journey into the organic and instinctive sounds of techno.

The essence of Möd3rn lies in the synergy of its members, each bringing their unique talents.  Electric Rescue, a pivotal figure in the French rave scene and the visionary behind Skryptöm, along with Moteka and Kmyle, contribute to a collective force that thrives on collaboration rather than competition. Although Maxime Dangles and Traumer have since moved on to other artistic pursuits, their contributions have left behind a lasting legacy and a resilient, innovative foundation for the group.

With over a decade of experience. At the core of Möd3rn is their live performance, the heart of the project. Their sound is a blend of raw yet nuanced energy—a pulsating maelstrom that captures the essence of techno with both intensity and subtlety. Every performance is entirely improvised, as the group connects an array of machines—synthesizers, drum machines, computers, effect pedals, modular setups—into a large analog mixing board, creating an unfiltered and spontaneous techno experience. This approach allows them to interact directly with their audience, crafting unique moments in clubs and festivals that are unrepeatable and born in the moment.

From the intimate setting of the Rex Club to the expansive stages of international festivals, Möd3rn’s journey is one of exploration and expression. Their performances transport audiences into a world where the boundaries of techno are continuously pushed and redefined. Central to their identity is their record label, through which they release albums that reflect their collective vision.

As they continue to evolve, Möd3rn stands as a testament to the power of friendship and improvisation—a living, breathing entity fueled by a shared passion for music and a commitment to creating genuine, unfiltered moments of connection through techno.
