Luca Averna is a DJ, producer, music enthusiast, and relentless vinyl collector.
He currently lives in Ibiza, where he is a resident DJ at the iconic Pikes Hotel and a core member of the Homies collective, overseeing music selection, event organization, and label management.
Eclectic and versatile, Luca effortlessly adapts to any setting thanks to his deep musical knowledge while always maintaining a refined and distinctive sound.
In the past, he managed a chain of music stores under the same brand in Northern Italy, expanding his musical culture and exploring a wide range of genres.
He has founded and run four record labels (Kosmophono Records, Noho Records, Homies Cuts, Orchestra Veneta) and has released music on various labels under different aliases, such as Jay Green and Residentes Balearicos, to name a few.
As an artist, he has performed in some of Europe’s top clubs, including the legendary Berghain/Panorama Bar, and has made a name for himself in the Balearic scene with releases on key labels in the genre.
His productions have been featured in prestigious compilations such as Mercury Rising by DJ Harvey, Balearic Breakfast by Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy, and Get Physical Music/Ibiza 2018.

Disco For Funky Monkeys!

Hot-stepping into the disco jungle, Hot Gorilla Records blur the lines between disco, funk, house and reworked edits. And they come at you with one aim and one aim only - to make you go bananas on the dancefloor!

Founded by Andy Buchan and Conan The Selector in May 2020 as the pandemic hit, the duo brought some much-needed ‘good times’ to the disco scene. And when clubs did open up again, they were straight into action, touring the UK as DJ support for The Brand New Heavies including sold-out dates in Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham. 

Musically they strut the line between disco, funk and house, championing original music and heavily reworked edits. 

And they’ve had plenty of dance floor success including several Juno Download No.1s, multiple Traxsource Top 10s and four tracks in the Best of 2021 Beatport chart. 

The Hot Gorilla Records family currently includes founders Andy Buchan and Conan The Selector alongside guests like Fingerman, Chewy Rubs, Mannix, Monsieur Van Pratt, Akeem Raphael and a big troop of funky monkeys. 

And with an album on the way, a 2nd birthday to celebrate in May 2022 and gigs across the UK and beyond, Hot Gorilla Records will continue to bring the ‘Good Times’ as they make people go bananas on the dancefloor.
