For the first release coming in 2017 Macadam Mambo strikes very hard with a very special EP of radical dance music by the German band The Blech revisited by the Hambourg based artist Wosto. 
The Blech released 6 LP between 1985 and 1996. Their albums have become a treasure-trove of extravagant, groovy dance hall artistry. The forcefulness with which The Blech flung their conviction from the stage into the audience was at once hypnotic, irritating and erotic. 
Here Wosto has selected two tracks from the Zip Zip LP originally released in 1987 (Nichts Wie Vorher and Zip Zip) and one from the Ich Wollte Meine Schuhe Zerschneiden LP (Die Einame Trane) released in 1989, to transform them into strong powerfull dancefloor cuts. Be sure of the efficient of the product, no need to talk more, let the music speak by itself.
Special mention for the magnificient artwork of Lyon’s based artist Hugo Charpentier from the Mauvaise Foi collective !!

Gediminas Jakubka creates art under the pseudonym Patricia Kokett, or maybe Kokett is performing life under the alias of Jakubka... The classically trained guitarist has been performing vivid assaults on the Lithuanian music scene for over a decade, gradually moving from electronically informed punk bands to the deep, hypnotic volt charged psychedelia of her current nom de guerre. We stole some time with the wildly creative musician to hear her views on his work, the European underground and the apocalyptic tendencies of cloud rap.

Hypnobeat - Forbidden Plant

Spearheaded by James Dean Brown (also known from Perlon’s Narcotic Syntax) and Victor Sol, and featuring other rotating members, Hypnobeat is a true product of the open-ended spirit of DIY music that proliferated in the 1980s. The prescient project championed deft, machine-powered rhythm programming as its modus operandi long before the practice would become a dominant global cultural form. Since Hypnobeat was revived in 2012 with Helena Hauff joining JDB on stage for improvised live performances based on one 707 and three 808s, there have been a string of archival releases shining a light on the early and more recently recorded works of this forward-thinking venture.

This latest collection for Artificial Dance comprises three freshly unearthed iterations. Long-form A-side track “Polychrome Desert” is a pure percussive exercise, programmed and recorded by JDB in 1986 with a chain of three 808s filling out a stereo panorama. The intention was to create a pure, meditative rhythm drawing on African influences and reinterpreted through what was then the music technology of the future. “Spies In Malaysia” is a live recording from a concert Hypnobeat performed in 1985. Its lurid melodic passages and crunchy percussive blasts formed the closing track of the set, which was met with rapturous response. Recorded in the same year, “Sumatra Railway” was the product of an impromptu session between JDB and Victor Sol. The song finds the pair exploring a more shadowy, surf-inspired sound, laden with echo and freewheeling through seven minutes of sun-kissed, subtly tropical subversion.

With each successive release, the plot surrounding Hypnobeat thickens in a tangle of 1/4” jack cables and ancient effect pedals. From its shifting line-up to the diverse sonic repertoire, it remains one of the wondrous plants of German electronic music in the pre-techno era.

Although Cleveland maintains something of a low profile, recent years have seen his catalog blossom with quality releases on labels like Hivern Discs and ESP Insitute. On May 10, the Luxembourg-born, Brussels-based producer is set to return to Hivern Discs with 'nDSi,' a double EP that finds him taking a more stripped-down approach. Ahead of its release, we debuted the bucolic melodies and machine gallop of "DX6" on Red Bull Radio's First Floor, our weekly look at what's new in electronic music.
