Long has the latest tune of Mark Sixma making been kept as an ID. And equally long, has it been loved by the crowds. One of the most outstanding tunes of the Universal Religion Chapter 7 album, is Mark Sixma’s ‘Character’.

One of the best kept producer secrets, is Mark Sixma. No matter which style he handles, he handles it well. Whether that be house, prog or trance, the Sixma sound knows how to incorporate all of them. 

Pleasing the trancers this time, is the mighty ‘Character’. With a recognizable hook and melody, an outstanding break and drive that mesmerizes, it should be no surprise that Ibiza’s Privilege was completely taken away by it. 

The same will go for any club it’ll meet.

Airdraw & Jo.E are trailblazing their way across the electronic music landscape; thanks to their atmospheric productions on some of the worlds most credible labels. This time they grab your attention with a Touch of Mercy feat. Noel Ruarte.

While the original mix is a sublime piece of music as is always the case with the Argentinian duo, it’s the PROFF mix which takes the gold on this release. The Anjunabeats favourite reworks A Touch of Mercy into a hypnotic progressive gem. His subtle melodic undertones are underpinned elegantly by a cascade of emotion all packed together perfectly by his modern midas touch.

David Folkebrant - Me & You

Last year, a couple of months before the ASOT600 tour, Dennis of Alda Events approached me with a random request: putting together music for the first hour of each live show, creating a vibe in the venues while the crowd entered the venue. Something that would build a certain vibe or tension. I took the challenge, but instead of making a DJ mix, I decided to fully produce this show element. After months of work I finished the hour of music, and it was used during the tour.  After the tour, I didn't even think that people would be interested seeing this as a regular release, as it was easy listening music. I decided to give the music away on Facebook, as a dedication to the two cities and crowds I played for during this ASOT600 tour: Sao Paulo and Sofia.   One year later, ' From Sao Paulo To Sofia' has been embraced by many people, including I would say, the least expected person in the dance industry: Hardwell.  He has used the full album as warm up music during his massive 'I AM Hardwell' tour, as well as in his documentary.   As all of the tracks on the album are non-danceable tracks, I have asked my favorite producers to give their own twist to the tracks, and in your hands is the result!

Yin and Yang (n.) - the concept of duality forming a whole. A fundamental premise in Chinese philosophy now transposed to the electronic dance industry through the creation of Proton "Editions". Through encyclopaedic knowledge of the 800+ strong Proton roster of labels Tripp Baronner has envisioned a new concept of the principle of seemingly polar opposites, coming together as interconnected and independent universal forces - life and death, the dark and the light: one complete entity.

From a passion for underground progressive house at opposite ends of the audio spectrum - the deep, shadowy atmospheres to the blissful, shimmering melodies, "Yin" and "Yang" were born in an effort to represent this phenomenon in musical form. Each release will provide a single remix of an existing Proton roster track for two inextricably linked labels in the form of a light (Yang) and dark (Yin) edition. Released on the same day, a strong contrast in styles will thus serve to complement each other and nourish the whole.

In a glittering career spanning over two decades Tom Middleton has been involved in some of electronic music’s defining moments, from his early work with Aphex Twin, through his legendary collaborations with Mark Pritchard as Global Communication to his renowned mix compilations for the likes of Renaissance.

Following the sublime ‘WYV AUW CHU’ in 2013, ‘KUMTO GETHA / HEVA’ sees the release of Tom’s first original music in almost two years.

Forging together his trademark ‘liquatech’ soundscapes with contemporary dark club grooves, ‘KUMTO GETHA’ is a memorable dancefloor weapon, packing a serious low-end punch. 

Meanwhile ‘HEVA’ is a soaring melodic anthem, with gorgeous atmospherics and ethereal vocals flowing to an epic crescendo above an energetic bouncing groove.

Feelings of romance and hope imbue the spring months, as well as the music released this time of year. We're thrilled to present three uplifting new cuts by Jallen, Alex Byrka, & Jacqueline, which brilliantly capture the optimistic mood of the spring season.

American phenom Jallen has witnessed extraordinary radio support this past year across the globe. We were thrilled to feature him for the first time on our recent "Only Silk 03" compilation, his contribution to which is now available in full, unmixed form on this release. Specifically, Jallen's soulful remix of Schodt's classic "Angel No. 8" begins with a rolling bassline and a lush, melodic soundscape. The signature vocal stutters from the original mix tastefully punctuate the numerous midrange layers. In the song's heartfelt climax, we are treated to a triumphant breaks interlude, which crescendoes into a roaring drop.

Alex (a.k.a. Alexander) Byrka last appeared years ago on Silk with his stellar contribution to Silk Royal Showcase 02, "She Doesn't Know" (in collaboration with Bianco Soleil). It's our joy to feature him again, as his "Made In Heaven" is a truly rapturous progressive house classic in the making. Gorgeous melodic layers, including an ethereal vocal effect, join an energetic groove. In the main break, a stunning piano theme captures the 'heavenly' aura of the song and helps it reach its emotional zenith.

Like Jallen, Indonesian talent Jacqueline is a first-time contributor to our imprint. She makes an impressive debut with "Rise Up", a vintage progressive house cut that centers on a moody and infectious chord progression. A vocal stab sequence and piano motif enhance the already rich midrange, culminating in an inspired drop.

We are on the brick to welcome Lokovski & David Folkebrant to our PHW division as these guys deliver “No Pressure” on the label this week. With a vibrant and uplifting feel, “No Pressure” is to hit you with that summer-ish vibe that we so often seek for. We feel truly happy to see the guys join us on the label. 

To flavour a bit more and give the release a different approach and more to select from, we also see two different remixes being in this package. First of is the return of Leicester bound UK producer, Ashraf Soobiah that works his music through his well known alias of Zuubi. He’s been a major player with us over the years and we are always thrilled and excited to see him take time to join back with the PHW imprint. 

With his creativity and own style of progressive, he surely is to strike again with this rework of the original ideas. It’s a slightly more laid back feel to the track here and it’s with delight that we put this one on to give us the summer feelings. It’s another superb production from this rare talent that we take with on the release with open arms of course. 

We also see a new face taking his first steps on the label as US bound producer Lensa makes his debut through our PHW division. It’s a true joy listening to this one, giving us a real breath of fresh air as this is a number that definitely etches to us. With a warm mood, tight melodic lines and everything in between, he surely strikes with full power and we are truly delighted to sim taking a spot on our roster!
