As a follow-up to his stunning remix of Mephisto’s 1992 classic, ‘State of Mind’ on Renaissance Records & his self- released Lando EP which saw support from the likes of Max Cooper, Joris Voorn, & Doc Scott, London-based Mattr returns with a new 2-tracker entitled ‘Colos’ on his own imprint Loft & Sound.

Opening with a glistening pad & tight off-beat percussive line, the title track Colos invites you to explore a sort of fantastical trek through the purest of euphoria, with its mellifluous warmth & playful vocal carrying you all the way
to the end.

Radiating a neoclassical quality is the second superb offering, XR. Its gentle organic rhythmic elements & key-work paired with a subtle vox bathe you in a highly visceral state of bliss.

I'm pleased to present my single 'Higher Love', released on 13th May 2022 by Nahual Records, featuring Elise Cabret aka DAWter.

The track began as my entry into the Beat Collective Challenge for 25th October 2021. Beat Collective is a Melbourne based artistic and music collective and every fortnight they hold a challenge in which those participating are given two samples to incorporate into a new, original track.

The samples for this challenge were:-
Sample 1: An absolutely gutsy bassline on the Volca Keys.
Sample 2: Some gorgeous improv vocals from Elise.

Sample 1:-  I warped, chopped and used for the main bass line throughout the track. Then I converted the melody to midi and made three piano tracks. One is an eighth note piano rhythm, the others melodies 3 octaves higher than the original sample, with separate EQ's, delays, filters, etc to create slightly different sounds.

Sample 2:- I chopped and warped this into two sections:- "an-ah-ah-ah" short vocal rhythm and then the vocal hook which features throughout the track, which is layered for greater impact.

The track is available on all download and streaming sites from 13th May!!
