DSS 015  | Patterns Of Perception

Josef Gaard (@josefgaard) is a project focused on music as a conduit. Originally based in the Seattle area and now settled in Berlin, he has been sharing his salient sound through productions and performances for years. With a 12" coming up on @kalawila ’s Mountain Explosion Device, he is continuing to push his music forward with a distinct touch. This mix showcases the different edges of his musical sphere, from nordic house to electro to techno and back again.

This Thursday 2 August he plays at OHM alongside the special live debut of Acronym (@4cr0nym) & @kali-malone.

Patterns of Perception 36 - Josef Gaard

A few weeks ago, I sat in the Lett Records office to work on a charity project for our beautiful planet. As some of you already know, I'm a lover of nature and animals, and I really suffer when I see for all these years how our planet is treated. And the "Earth" project was born...

This project is to bring together all the artists that I can like musically on the same compilation, with no deadline or precise release date, since the songs will be added as they are, to create a compilation that will allow donations to be donated on a quarterly basis to the Rainforest Action Network (www.ran.org).

Machine isoStream 21 :: PWD

Played and recorded using analogue modular synthesis, the five tracks that make up 懐古的(“Retro”) were created in a live setting by Japanese composer @takahiro-5 who is actively involved with the resurgence of cassette culture and physical format. He is from and based in Osaka, Japan and has been crafting his unique brand of techno since the early 90s. This is the debut vinyl imprint for the label and is exclusively available as a limited press of fifty 12” records.
The EP follows the struggle of the organism as it navigates the subtle static and chaos of life; its dance of tension and release. The A-side ascends through stuttered electronic energies; contracting, expanding and building into an inevitable electrical discharge before finally bubbling over, diffusing into the organic flowing out-breath that is the B-side/second act.
