All beats produced from my bedroom after I moved out to Spain. I was sitting on a thousand loosies and was frustrated that I couldn't point to any "completed" work, and thus the idea to create a tape was born this way. 2024 is mostly arbitrarily chosen, the dates just provide convenient walls for me to swim within. 

I still failed - you can tell because this is posted nearly 5 months after 2024 was over. Oh well... these things happen. Still got it out. Needed to get it off my chest before summer, where we'll make a full professional record with vocals. 

My dad saw me keep an FL Studio demo window open for a week (you can’t save and close the demo version), and so he pirated me my first copy. In other words, he noticed passion and bought me an instrument. Forever indebted. The completely irreplaceable experience of growing up in a tiny town in a flyover state and the musical culture that inhabits it. Harkening back to 7th grade discussing Hip Hop with Travis. My buddy Aidan for teaching me the ropes of audio production in empty university classrooms. Old history teacher for showing me Billy Woods and Dälek. Nephi for stickin’ by all the time and for the reciprocal fuel. Irie for “breaking the veil”, for showing me that someone could actually do that in real life. Still waiting on your tape btw. Everyone I ever freestyled with, even if you didn't rap but were just in the vicinity. Everyone from Hunter's house. Zuzu for driving me around all the time and playing good ass records. And the devotional mental energy. Ironing graphics on shirts to J-Dilla instrumentals at 4am off Sour-Patch Kids. The introduction of art into my life, arguably. Random professional afro-beat producer I met providing beats for a freestyling homeless man in a CVS parking lot in Salt Lake City who helped me believe in myself more. Nameless SLC rapper who asked me to freestyle longer at the open mic. Charles Hamilton for collaborating with me and validating me. Mudd for the energy. My girlfriend for the support and love. I am a mosaic craft by all those who ever surrounded me, if I forgot to mention you, I didn’t really, you’re in the music and the space between the words and notes. If that doesn’t feel familiar to you, then maybe you’re not, after all.
