EA Review: Fiend - Afterlife EP (Ft. Mystic State)

For the final song on CKRA012, Fiend collaborates with the minds behind The Chikara Project to reveal the emotional garage-esque banger, “Goodnight, Yellow.” Both artists’ talents shine through in this masterful production that is nothing short of mesmerizing. Together, Fiend and Mystic State paint a beautiful soundscape that leaves the listener swimming in bass as crystalline drums pierce through the clouds of reverb like icebergs in the fog of night. The track title becomes apparent via the meticulous sample selection. The quotes provoke profound feelings of nostalgia which are then washed over by cleansing waves of sub frequencies and euphoric synth chords. “Goodnight, Yellow” serves as a proper final farewell for the EP while establishing itself as a tune whose replay value will undoubtedly be capitalized on by fans of the release for ages to come.
