Mood Series #100!!! Can you believe it? We can hardly believe it either!? 100 releases!!! Not a lot of labels have such a deep and rich catalog that can celebrate such a milestone like this. An amazing accomplishment and we are very proud of the music the series has laid out. We wish to thank the artists, the members behind the production team, and especially you, the audience! It goes without saying we wouldn't be in it if you were not along for the ride. Over 2 dozen different countries have been represented during this series is something we are very happy about. Tracking the progress of dub and deep techno from various countries has been crucial to the evolution and advancement of the sound we so much love.

Since this is a special landmark release, we felt that this should be a special release highlighting the main man behind everything. grad_u! "Transcending Chapters" is a compilation of secret tracks that grad_u has been holding back through the years, waiting for the right time. What better way to celebrate #100 than to have a big salute to our amazing leader with them? Listen as grad_u guides through addictive DJ-friendly dancefloor cuts to late-night atmospheric beauties to stripped-down dub chord massives and then on to broading armchair bangers and back again. All and all, grad_u gives us well over 2 hours of breathtaking techno. grad_u was really holding out on us! These are monumental! "Transcending Chapters" closes the book on the first 100 releases of the Mood Series. We hope you will be along for the next chapter in the label. Thank you once again from the Greyscale camp. Swedish talent Joline Scheffler makes her 2nd appearance in quick succession on 'made of Concrete'. Here, she follows up her 'We The Artists' EP with 'Afterglow'; a 3 track record demonstrating the fruits of of her time spent collecting esoteric records from obscure pockets of Electronic music. 

'Afterglow' kicks things off with an incredibly expressive production. Highly astute sound design and delicately managed dynamics work together to evoke a visceral response from the listener. Golden Rhodes chords are dropped into a well of reverberated signals while a rounded kick drums maintain buoyancy. 

'Tjusning' follows up with a more direct blow. Jagged stabs, airy hats and rich, filtered stabs render a smokey, flickering vision perfectly suited to a packed and dimly lit floor. 'Amorphous' finishes up the record with a highly effective tool, reduced to a few raw elements. Progress is derived from parameters as gentle tweaks to delays and filters keep tones morphing and melting throughout.

You know how a night out can be so full of vagaries - a cigarette burn on the dance floor, spilled drinks as you walk out of the bathroom, long queues... You walk into a room and feel this soothing pulse of understanding, a radiant sense of care for your well-being carries over through the speakers as pads croon their sympathy to you. As the mental cinema continues to unfold and acid tones combine with a swirling percussive groove, you know you are home. All the ways in which this night seemed to have gone wrong, are just right. For without them, this ethereal moment of transcendence would be impossible. Without them, there would be no Shikha.
