Using the example of the preparation of an apple pie, the parts are explained up to the atoms and subatomic particles (electrons, protons, and neutrons). It is explained how the chemical elements were formed by the fusion in the stars and also by the passing of the stars. Red giants, supernovae, white dwarfs, neutron stars, pulsars and black holes are explained, and also the phenomena produced by them, such as radioactivity, cosmic rays and also the curvature of space-time by gravity.

Am Beispiel der Zubereitung eines Apfelkuchens werden die Teile bis hin zu den Atomen und subatomaren Partikeln (Elektronen, Protonen, and Neutronen) erklärt. Es wird erklärt, wie die chemischen Elemente durch die Fusion in den Sternen und auch durch das Vergehen der Sterne entstanden sind. Dazu werden Rote Riesen, Supernovae, Weiße Zwerge, Neutronensterne, Pulsare und Schwarze Löcher erklärt, und auch auf die von diesen erzeugten Phänomene wie Radioaktivität, Kosmische Strahlung und auch die Krümmung der Raumzeit durch die Gravitation eingegangen.
