Kerri Chandler’s MadTech Records rounds off the year with ‘MadTech 2015’ a retrospective compilation looking back over the year and accompanied by five exclusive new compositions.

Reflecting on the past year MadTech Records has once again take huge strides with ever on-point material from hotly tipped producers like Applebottom, Kalyde, Cera Alba and No Artificial Colours. Here we see the label glance over this years achievements with ‘MadTech 2015’ collating many of the labels hit records throughout the year while providing a string of exclusive new cuts for the package.

Up first on the exclusives is Apollo 84’s ‘Snookies’ and the UK artist delivers a percussive led groove accompanied by stuttering vocal murmurs, shuffling snare rolls, warbling bass tones and tension building string samples. Di Chiara Brother’s ‘Message’ follows and Italian sibling duo offer up a funk infused slice of house with a rhythmic New Jersey swing, organic bass licks and heavily processed vocal chops.

Up next is Nightshift with ‘Do Not Be Alarmed’, bringing a rave tinged edge to things with menacing bass leads, frenzied synth blips and murmuring vocal lines hidden in the depths of the record. Raffa FL’s ‘Chantelle’ strips things back a bit with low-slung drums tucked behind an ever-blooming bass line with a touch of acid. Last up to round off the exclusive content from the comp, Demarzo reworks Apollo 84’s ‘Snookies’, stamping his unique hypnotic style on the original number.

Butane and Riko Forinson link up for an enchanting new deep house single on Deeperfect that comes backed with a hot remix from Detroit mainstay Shaun Reeves. For many years now, Butane has cooked up electric grooves on the finest labels from Get Physical to Crosstown and his own Alphahouse, Little Helpers and Extrasketch. A master of texture and mood, he has been touring the world since 2005 and always keeps people guessing as to his next trick. Meanwhile, Italian Riko Forinson has long been fascinated by acoustics and has studied various instruments at the Conservatory of Salerno. He now makes futuristic electronic music with influences of rock, jazz, hip hop, reggae and classic house. The duo's 'One Hundred Percent' is a deep and tender seven-minute house opus, with swaying claps and drums, hugely emotive vocals and gorgeous piano keys draped over the top. It's a rich, emotional track that brings something different to the dance floor. The remix comes from Shaun Reeves, a long time innovator who has landed on labels like Wolf & Lamb, Crosstown Rebels, Raum and, of course, the Visionquest label he co-founded. Once again he cooks up some enthralling sounds here and takes things deep and late into the night. Rubbery kicks power you along as warped synths and dark bass weave in and out to hypnotic effect.

Music is 4 Lovers continue their Global Lovers compilation series with GLV5; featuring 8 brand new tracks from a cast of all-Russian artists.

Up first on the comp is a groovy, space-filled microhouse track out of Moscow from Vanilla Ninja resident, Adamov; followed by a big tech house bomber from Toolroom artist, Alex Twitchy.

We seasoned a little poppy flavor over the compilation with an infectious tune from BLENT; which is a collaboration project between Cedric Gasaida, former lead singer of Azari & III; and Russian producer Victor Karzalov. The VA then takes a minimal turn with a deep groover from Moscow-based duo Bypass.

Hailing from Saint Petersburg, Jax D lights up the compilation with a stick of dance floor dynamite; proceeded by Mik Kartl’s jungle-inspired track.

Highway Records bossman and a veteran of Moscow’s underground, Mike Spirit delivers a massive tech house tune ready to smash dance floors all over the world. The compilation ends with another Moscow-based veteran, Yasha F, who slows it down with a raw grinding tune that features cuts from the infamous movie of the late 80’s, Robocop.

Global Lovers V5: Russia is set to hit the digital shelves on Friday, June 5, 2020.

Hailing the first release of his brand new imprint, Four Four Soul Recordings, well known London producer, Tom Davidson (of Reel People fame), launches his brand new guise Casa Devi with a sublime debut ‘Peaceful Thoughts’. Drizzled the dreamy ethereal voice of Syrian born Layal Watfeh, ‘Peaceful Thoughts’ Original mix is a mellow jazzy affair, laced with brass stabs, flute, sweeping strings, guitars and creative keys, all set to a broken beat flavoured groove. Also on the package, Tom houses things up with a cool Club Mix driven by catchy electronic bass hook and a superb trumpet solo; Pat Bedeau takes things deeper and dubby with his signature Bedfunk sound. Luke McCarty and Craig Whitfield's HHA (restless soul family) turn on their Harlesden charm with a hypnotic Acid Dub; and Modaji renders a blissed-out soulful groove teased with soothing synth washes.

The man behind London based ‘Casa Devi’ is producer, mixer and engineer, Tom Davidson. Tom's love of Soulful, Funk and Jazz tinged dance music inspired him to set about writing new material in the studio and Casa Devi’ was born. Tom Davidson is a producer/mixer/sound engineer with over 25 years in the business and has run his legendary ‘People Studios’ in London for 20 years. He is a founding member of the acclaimed band ‘Reel People’ and has engineered, produced and mixed a plethora of recording sessions for clients including prestigious names: East West Connection, Nathan Haines, Phil Asher, Bob Jones and Lofty, Carl Orr, Jeff Beck, Norris Windross, Danny Rampling, Planet E, World Circuit Records, Papa Records, Universal and Sony Records, to name a few. Tom's ethos is quality, inclusive, soulful and spiritual music!!
