The name ‘moose’ is believed to originate from ‘mus’ and ‘moos’ which means ‘eater of twigs’ or ‘he who strips of the bark’ in the Algonquian North American Indian family of languages. The name is apt given that moose are browsers rather than grazers. The Moose Man is a browser of good times and music from the Golden State of California, USA, currently based in Hanoi. Never one to shy from a rave, he knows how to give it horns, or in this case antlers, and has delivered a moody techno mix for the Magic Box Engine.

French Psytrance DJ, DJ Moog has been playing the wonders of psytrance since 1995, having established a Goa Trance party called “Universal Party” in 96’ and then launching “Psychedelic Concept” in 1998. After 2000 he became a regular DJ at the infamous Full Moon parties in Thailand.

His convincing sessions can be captured from a rhythmic Goa trance to an aggressive progressive trance or why not a serious psytrance with gloomy and abstract rhythms.

When he takes the stage, expect energy. He launches a dance floor with an array of analog drum machines, synthesizers, and samplers. Fully improvised live sets that dive deep into intricate and textured soundscapes, which sit on a bed or rolling and pulsing rhythms. This live show and Rixon’s production style has made him a growing force in the global dance music landscape.

His raw and infectious energy has allowed him to perform his live show on the stages of Europe & South Africa’s most notorious festivals and clubs, leaving his mark on Fusion Festival (DE), Garbicz Festival (PL), Lighthouse Festival (HR), Habitat Festival (DE), Watergate (DE), The Great Escape Festival(UK), and Carfax (SA).
