Thank you for given me the opportunity to play at your legendary Katzen birthday spectacle. I remember coming to your 40th birthday and being first time at Kater. It was the weekend where my life completely changed and ACID FLORA was born. 

Coming back each year is something in my agenda ever since. However this year it was extra special because I was given the chance to play at Acid Bogen for the 2nd time this year BUT your birthday made it even more special to me! Thank you for closing the circle of my wishes and believing in me by giving me a chance. I think everybody needs someone in their life who believes in them and gives them a chance.

You have inspired me since day one and it was love at the first hear! 

Playing this set has been my personal highlight. I've been super nervous, shaky and my hands where sweating crazy.

It's hard to put everything down in words but I hope everyone who listens to this live recording enjoys it as much as I did while playing it.

The duck was awake again (for a long time)! In our eyes, Sisyphos is one of the best clubs in the world, and for years we've enjoyed visiting friends there. All the more reason for us to give you a little insight into the hallowed halls of Dampfer. Let @nicorus and @doron-plazmalab take you away, and bash away!

✔️ What are your musical influences and backgrounds?

*Doron:
Influenced by the Berlin club scene over the last 15 years, but always with the footprint of his Israeli roots and the feeling of desert and nature. Doron connects mind and body with his narrative sound. With a background of rock and gothic music, he was infected with electronic and psychedelic music at his first outdoor party in the southern sands of the Israeli desert in the early 90s. Since then he has been collecting and experimenting with all kinds of electronic genres and has been active as a DJ and promoter for more than two decades.

*Nicorus:
My influences are as diverse as music genres in general. But I have a focus on electronic music and rock music. I listened to a lot of grunge, metal and punk as a kid, but also a lot of drum n bass, hip hop, reggae and dub as a teenager. Bands like Nirvana, Nofx, High tone or Asian dub Foundation lulled me to sleep.

✔️ What do you think makes a good afterhour?

*Doron:

For me, a good afterhour is first and foremost the right music, the sound that gives you the energy to stay on the dance floor after a long sleepless night, enriched with atmospheric, uplifting, melodic harmonies and slow, groovy beats.

*Nicorus:
A good afterhour is above all an unlikely place and/or the perfect mix of people. Of course, the music shouldn't be too hard or too fast, but also not too slow, otherwise you'll run out of energy and fall asleep. It's all a question of dosage ;)

✔️ What thoughts would you like to give us about your mix?

*Doron:
... I was very excited at the beginning, it was the first time for me to play at Sisyphos and the first time ever to play B2B with my mate Nicorus, although our sound styles are a bit different there was a great harmonic musical flow between us, we definitely had a lot of fun and I think we did a great job.

*Nicorus:
This mix is special because it's a gift to my pot Doron, but also a meeting between two worlds. Doron, more in detail, dream and subtlety, and me more on the energetic and expressive side. An encounter that was a perfect fit.

Dauw & Schemering present Afterhour Sounds Podcast Nr. 259

Our latest episode today comes from the two Belgians and storytelling masterminds https://soundcloud.com/dauwmuziek and https://soundcloud.com/schemering, who are always good for a surprise with their very special but mega fascinating sound. 

Their podcast recorded for us is a journey to the deepest inner self. A path that shows you places you have long forgotten. Or places and experiences that you like to remember. Like special moments at the festival, for example. Pleasant temperatures, music that invites you to dream, loving people around you...yes, that is one of many recipes that puts you into a kind of active hypnosis without detours. Together with the music, a smile on your face and closed eyes you drift off into another world. A world of positivity and lightness. 

That's exactly how it feels when we listen to the two DJs. Their art is to create a soulful work of art out of a collection of tracks and moods. A art that helps you find your feelings again. Maybe also to open the access to your heart. To process experiences and perhaps also to overcome pain. For some more, for others less. Either way. One thing is certain. The mix has once again turned out insanely well. Timeless, positive and with plenty of goosebump moments. A mix you should definitely not miss.

Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Journey Series!

On this edition we welcome Antoine Baiser (@antoinebaiser)

Antoine Baiser, sounds like something dirty or something to eat, but it's probably the most groovy love bone on earth.

Born in Paris, France he has succumbed to the tireless DJ mania for two decades now. In his current exile in Hamburg he has been 8 years co-host of the popular "No F**ing Day Can Destroy My Love" series of parties and an indispensable part of the club scene.

According to his commission to sonicate the world with his gentleman sound, the monsieur travels with the golden knob of his walking stick in his hand, the lands between Stockholm and Barcelona with style, charm and hat.

He celebrates his house attitude across borders and only a few play as melodic and swinging, but at the same time as bouncing as the Marquis d'Amour.

After several residences in Hamburgs clubs like Übel & Gefährlich, Fundbureau and Pal he was asked to be part of the residence Dj´s of Hamburgs legendary Clubprojekt "Südpol Hamburg" in 2019. 

Since then he found his musical paradise on the for floors of the club especially because of the nice crew of this lovely project.

In this mix he went back to his roots of french house and tried to interpret it in a modern way. He combined a couple of old school classics with current tracks to create a timeless journey and a voyage through more than 20 years of house music.
