Am heutigen Sonntag freuen wir uns mit @oilst und @benjarli zwei sympathische Schweizer Beatbauer begrüßen zu dürfen. Die beiden Freunde, die auch bereits zusammen als Produzenten released haben, haben sich für uns etliche elektronische Perlen hin und hergeschoben und man kann die dabei entstandene Freude klar heraushören. 

Die afterhouraffinität konnten die beiden auch schon im Zuge von  Veranstaltungen ihres @irubo Kollektivs unter Beweis stellen.

Was macht eurer Meinung nach eine gute Afterhour aus? 

Bei uns gibts selten Afterhours in Clubs, weil diese meist gegen 7 schliessen. Dann gehts je nach Jahreszeit an den Fluss, in eine Küche oder ein Studio. Wenn neue und alte Freunde, gute Nacht-Geschichten und sicke Tunes in einem Mürbeteig aufgehen, wird der Moment unendlich.


Welche Gedanken mögt ihr uns zu eurem Mix mit auf den Weg geben?

Unsere Vorselektionen für diesen Mix waren zu Beginn recht unterschiedlich, obwohl wir schon lange zusammen auflegen und uns musikalisch oft blind verstehen. Nach einer zweiten Runde diggen haben wir uns dann wie von selbst auf Tracks mit viel Delay geeinigt – und Reverb gibts auch. 

Wi bedanken uns recht herzlich für diese smooth stimmungsvolle Afterhour und wünschen euch nun ganz viel Vergnügen mit dem Mix!

• What are your musical influences? What is your musical background?

I dont "come" from a musical background, in my child hood music wasn't a very present aspect in my life and now it is what I dedicate my moments to. Sound is what interests me, the daily life sound, the sounds that hold invitations to deepen your moments, the sounds that make my inner and outer world move with curiosity, sounds for the deep listener. 

Opening Traktor for the first time in 2019 when in hospital with help from a dear beloved, I was made aware on such a deep level the ability of healing which comes from outworldy expresion through sound. From that point on the rabbit hole of wonder continues.

 

• What makes good "afterhour"?

A good afterhour for me are the moments of deep surrender, filled with Gratitude for the present. Being surrounded by and experiencing it with loving beings in softness, cheekiness and love. Lets pour some tea and listen to some melting ambient together, or lay in the sun listening to the wind in the trees, lets laugh and celebrate eachother. 

 • Do you have any thoughts you would like to share about your set?

I had the impulse to play the same track at the start and at the end, to hold the journey with the message of Love. This for me, is what I wish to convey in all my musical journeys. 

 
• What was your experience of the set you recorded?

Beate Uwe is one of my beloved home bases, so playing here is always a heart expansion. Watching the bodies flowing and moving on all different levels was and is such a joy, I was in awe at the beauty of it all. It is such an honour to play for you and to share this experience together. The last track moment has imprinted on me, an invitation into stillness it was beautiful to witness the embraces of self and others.

We all know this moment - you are lying in bed with a loved one on a Sunday and the world stands still. 

You put on some music to set the scene for rising temperatures under the sheets…

The beautiful set you put on suddenly brings you out of rhythm, but getting up to skip the track is no longer an option.

We have been scouting for the perfect Sunday morning sets for quite a while already and while "Eigentlich heissen wir Klaus" & "Mattmosphere" have been steady suppliers of them for us, we also developed the idea of asking befriended artists to record one hour of music, to which they like to stay in bed with a loved one. 

It's an intimate ask, but most of them said yes. 

Julia aka @ismetra from our friends at @otawa-rec contacted us a while ago with the idea of making a sensual podcast and hence it was only logical to have her kick off the series, which will from now on be released every two weeks on Sunday morning.
