Ali Bar-Bar: top shelf tunes, bottom shelf drinks!  I LOVE playing for these guys and gals, and I hope it shows in the music.  I've had way too much fun dragging people up to dance on the bar, watching kids breakdance in the dust (here's looking at you, Siris!), and causing general mayhem and Major Trouble! Major Trouble at Ali Bar-Bar: A Love Affair

This year's burn was absolutely incredible, and Wednesday night was a crowning moment on the week!  The awesome folks at the Santa Cruz-based Ali Bar-Bar invited me to play after local legend Dancing Mandy from Midnight to 2am, and my Sextant Camp family came en masse to support and dance their tails off!  After a bit of a hectic start (I got there and realized I forgot my power cable for my controller on the Skylark art car and had to race across BRC to get it, come back, and be ready to start in 8 minutes), things started falling into place.  Around 1:55am, their camp lead and the night's closing DJ, Horst, came up and told me to keep playing if I wanted to since the place was going off and we wanted to keep the energy flowing!  It was an incredibly gracious gesture and I happily obliged.  Not a perfect set by any means, but for operating on 2 hours of sleep and playing for 3 hours, I'll take it!  Thank you so much to everyone at Ali Bar-Bar for having me out!!!  It was one of the highlights of my burn!

Wednesday Night Ali Bar-Bar Marathon Set

Redwood City was NOT ready for Ali Bar-Bar's Five-Year Celebration!  What an amazing night with beautiful people celebrating our favorite Playa Bedouin Bar.  I had SO much fun playing this set for the party and loved seeing all the smiling faces and dancing souls.  Here's to another wonderful five years, Ali Bar-Bar!

When Marco, Ali Bar-Bar's music curator extraordinaire, reached out to me about playing their opening night party on Playa, I asked him what sound he wanted to set the tone for the week.  His reply?  "Just blow the roof off that place."
