All too often we blame ourselves for how we are treated, but people show us who they are and when they do we have to believe them and not place blame on ourselves when people are unkind to us.

I am revisiting this song to bring awareness to what is happening in Gaza. Imagine you are living in Gaza, and you are an innocent civilian being bombed and shot at daily. Could you sleep? And then monsters kill your family. They are stuck under the rubble. They are being killed, and their land is being stolen. They have nowhere to go. They're trying to stay awake. They are trying to stay alive, but the Monsters are making it impossible for them to survive. Palestinians are suffering a genocide. They are even being starved to death. Don't stay silent. the captain, mad captain
he told the men his plans
and then they went out stealing things
so they could rule these lands

they stole four antique cannons from the castle
hijacked a truckload of metal from the factory
they stole a jet engine from the old air force base
the mad captain nodded satisfactorily

they welded the metal into a battering ram
and the big jet engine was for extra speed
cannons armed in every direction
the mad captain had returned to the sea (x2)

they were a terror in the open waters
they’d sink any ship that they saw
and with their jet engine, they were able to avoid apprehension
and stay a step ahead of the law

vengeance in the form of a storm
came rolling across the sea
the mad captain pulled his eyes from the sky
he’d seen more than he wanted to see
"all hands below deck", the captain roared
"tie yourself down so you don’t go overboard"
