Widely celebrated as a pioneer of techno in India, Arjun Vagale continues to steer the course of the country’s underground electronic music movement. Previously bringing his intense, driven, and raw sound to labels such as Jeff Mills’ Axis, Planet Rhythm, and his ODD Recordings imprint amongst others, Arjun readies his first appearances on Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects.

Across the EP, Arjun delivers five no-nonsense, heavy-hitting techno tracks littered with heaving drum machines and tweaked-out modular synthesis. From the sizzling drum lines and rowdy stabs of opener ‘Flash’ through to the dense, wobbling synths and rumbling kicks on closing track ‘Yuzu’, Arjun delivers yet another standout release, cementing himself as one of techno’s most exciting acts.

With an array of talented artists, Méxican label CommonSense Records publishes their fourth compilation with 14 DJs from all around the globe such as Alejandro Franco, Alexis Berumen, Billy Spike Iland, BØHM, Born In Lagash, Datura Dilema, Fixon, Gotshell, HeÎk, Igor Ochoa, Lindsey Herbert, Migheel, Mr. Tron & Feph, and Ricardo Garduno.

These 14 DJs all introduce something new that will have the techno scene quaking for more. 

Starting the album off with Gotshell’s track 'Controlled Sine',  the track showcases a great example of harmony by featuring ambiance that is followed by organic beats and an eclectic atmosphere.

Born and raised in Tokyo, Risa Taniguchi is the classically trained and skilled musician turned leading techno queen, making a serious impact on the scene with her electrifying releases and DJ sets. Drawing inspiration from the underground scene of her home city, and playing clubs such as Vent, Contact and Womb, Risa is making all the right noises in all the right places.

Her second EP for Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains label follows up releases for Cin Cin, Second State and Odd Recordings. On the ‘This Guy’ EP, Risa deploys a trio of shadowy yet vigorous club cuts, taking in rasping acid lines, twisted vocal loops and haunting tones, each track delivered with a pace and energy that will satisfy those with a love of the real techno sound.

Maybe it happens too often in life that we sway from our path - we like viewing it as straightforward, but it’s rarely the case; sometimes we make 3 steps forward only to make 2 back; sometimes we get lost in a dark forest and seem to have forgotten our ways. But no matter how winds and whirls and curves our path, we will always find our way back if we look inside our hearts and listen to the rustle of the morning stars.

With their new release, Manic Brothers treat us to another strong EP. Dancefloor-oriented 3-tracker delights with its intricate polyrhythmic works and lo-fi atmospheres. Groovy drums team with trippy fx into percussive hypnotic sequences.
