Introducing Fate: A brand new label from Hungary’s finest drum & bass export Chris.SU.

Having destroyed floors for years with his gritty grooves on labels such as Subtitles, Commercial suicide, Bad Taste and Spearhead, he’s decided to take fate into his own hands… Literally.

Launching with a precision statement of intent, this release carefully balances consistency with variety. Showcasing the label’s remit while reminding us just how sharp he is in the studio, across two tracks Chris.SU has created a special vibe that hints at a very promising future for Fate… And he’s done so with two old sonic compatriots – Mira and State Of Mind.

Following their critically acclaimed work together on last year’s ‘Higher’, ‘Together In The Night’ sees Chris recruit the stunning vocals of Mira once again. Armed with complementary styles, Chris’s undulating waves of subtle bass fluctuate beneath Mira’s emphatic, emotionally rich delivery. Heightened further by shimmering, arpeggios and star-gazing synths, it’s a quintessential dreamy dynamic. Expect nothing but hugs, blissed out faces and perhaps a few smooches on your floor when you drop this… Pure rolling romance.

‘The Burning’ ensures we’re not too caught up in the emotional side of the dance: a tag-team with old New Zealand friends State Of Mind, it’s a crisp, techy message of menace. After an opening salvo of icy, cosmic synths and spine-shuddering prayer calls we’re thrown head first into the gnarly bass drop that rifles its way along with turbo-charged tenacity, switching into longer drone flexes on the fills for added excitement. The breakdown strips back the elements succinctly to just one powerful synth, giving the second drop even more impact. Make no mistakes, this is pure nocturnal naughtiness.

One year on from the launch of their inaugural “Rotation” programme, Addictive Behaviour’s various-artist shuttle orbits earth once more. On board this time, a crew of 21 intrepid pioneers, bringing with them a diverse spectrum of musicality and D&B engineering expertise to the quest. Armed, locked and loaded with an assault of sophisticated phonic weaponry, their mission is simple. Audio annihilation!

This 2nd chapter to Addictive Behaviour’s dynamic album series is their most ambitious project to date. An otherworldly journey showcasing an edgy and explosive array of raw talent from a collective of old and new artists from the Addictive camp. Embarking on this Rotation, and making their label debut is an impressive ensemble of well-known names as well as fresh up and coming, cutting edge producers. Nick Bee rains in the darker, techy vibes with his “Ghetto Politics”, as do Kyrist & Babarix in their obliterating “Maikuro Funk” collab. Meanwhile, Release, Tephra & Arkoze, Data 3 & Modu provide their own unique variations, beaming with moody subs and percussive vibes, encapsulating the Addictive Behaviour tone to great effect. Philth adds a fresh, melodic, vocal composition to the deep end of the mix in “The Big Question” whilst Dom & Roland’s Xanadu is commissioned for remixing duties delivering an explosive new take on Detail’s “Breakout”.

Talking of which, joining the new recruits on this expedition, long term label regulars Detail & L 33 step into the fray, flexing their elements of neuro-tech styles and adding momentum to this growing satellite of revolving music production. Also on board this charter, some recent Addictive additions. Mystic State’s “Eye Contact” and Nami’s “Downpour” push the audio transit on with their bass fuelled roller’s rocketing us in to unknown territory.

Finally, kicking in the afterburn, are the Rotation – Part One veterans. Artifact returns with another relentless aural display in “Materialist” whilst Fade brings a heavy metallic attack in “Hold Tight” Finishing off the universal carnage TR Tactics are joined by relative label newcomers The Clamps to bring us a full on neuro assault in “Conscious”.

Rotation –Part Two will be making it’s re-entry in to Earth’s atmosphere on September the 30th. The 14 track LP is an awe-inspiring amalgamation of complex layered productions showing us once again the label’s ability to evolve. An immersive and varied, frontier pushing display with one unifying theme echoing from its core once again. . . Good quality production.

Those who keep a close eye on the underground will already be well acquainted with the name LoKo. An integral part of the Bristol bass music scene LoKo has had his tracks remixed by KOAN Sound, co-founded and subsequently released intense remixes and original tracks on Screwloose Records and now gained Andy C’s approval as he joins the ranks of one of D&B’s most exciting new labels, Program.

Just one listen to ‘Bassline Secret’ and you’ll understand why Andy C has thrown his weight behind it. At once a grinding slice of modern drum & bass with a heavy nod to the nostalgic days of the Prototype Years, this is an undeniably fresh take on a classic sound. Skipping breakbeats and grinding bassline combinations sit effortlessly in the mix with each sound playing its part without overpowering the others. Here LoKo has achieved a fine balance that will make ‘Bassline Secret’ stand out from the crowd - in the club, on your iPod or blasting out of your car as you zoom down the motorway to your next D&B night!

Flip over and ‘The Shadows’ showcases LoKo’s production talent once again with a massive call-and-response bassline hook. Yet again the Bristol-based producer displays his ability to update a classic drum & bass sound with some modern studio techniques and some fresh ideas by subtly manipulating and progressing the interplay of the bass sounds throughout the tune. With a high level of attention to detail, this will undoubtedly find a place in plenty of DJs sets this winter and with his debut Program release LoKo has categorically proven himself as a artist to watch.
