The convergence of artistic minds births magical synergies that inspire the creation of wonders beyond the grasp of singular imaginations.

Tucumán & Rembrandt are sonic illustrations of that and we are grateful that @fabiankrooss joined forces with the @kon-faber duo to create this energetic EP as we celebrate SAISONS022.

Berlin-based Kon Faber & Fabian Krooss are masterful electronic musicians whose works are characterized by an artful blend of futurism and intricate, emotional soundscapes. Their songs are carefully crafted, pulsing with deep grooves and jazzy melodies that transport the listener to earthy, fantastical realms.

Release thirty-four welcomes Berlin producer Fabian Krooss into the Manjumasi label fold. Having forged a unique style that balances playful sound design with cleverly constructed melodies, Fabian has rapidly established himself as one to watch. Already he has a string of releases on notable imprints like Stil Vor Talent, Gardens of Babylon, and most recently Saisons Musique.

This two-track EP on Manjumasi once again showcases his knack for melding fun grooves and contemplative vibes. Title track The Little Things is a simultaneously melancholic and hopeful number, featuring a super expressive synth lead that weaves its way through a bed of punchy percussion. On the flip side is Whopper, a deeper cut with bass-driven melody that crescendos into a flourish of rich, Oberheim-style pads. Throughout this EP, the sound is distinctly Fabian’s own, a musical voice that we hope to be hearing more from in the years to come.

The result is a darker and more intense version of the original that adds complex synth arpeggi and a hypnotic vibe to the mix.

For its sixth release, Around Midnight chose to showcase the mesmerizing work of French artist Rammö. A prolific producer based in the South of France, Rammö also graced the decks of famous festivals such as Wonderfruit in Thailand, Afrikaburn or Moga Festival to name just a few. His signature sound, a trippy flow mixing only recorded sounds and acid synthesizers, is highlighted in this "Paradox Dream" E.P through 2 originals and 1 remix. "Paradox Plant" leads us to an elevation in slow motion thanks to spellbinding drums combined with distorted synthesizers and incantatory vocals. The track slowly walks us into the depths of our perceptions, where green fumes eventually transform into beautiful and rewarding visions. At the core of the second track, "Pablo's Dream", modulated French lyrics stand out for the voice of our subconscious gently carrying us into a paradoxical reality. Meanwhile, the round signature baseline punctuated by acid drops of synthesizers slowly opens up around the vocals like flower petals : a joyful dip into the enlightening shadows of our inner self. The remix of "Pablo's Dream" by the Happy Camper Records duo Unders and Noraj Cue conveys a deep clubbing vibe through the use of stronger beats and a higher pitch coupled with playful variations on the main theme that expand the original to another dimension while preserving its dreamy and introspective purpose. Be ready to awaken to this "Paradox Dream" on July 21st ....

Label Press release: It's about time again, our eighth compilation finally sees the light of day. It is peppered with wonderful pearls from the most diverse styles of the downtempo universe and, as always, is intended to reflect the diversity of our favorite genre.

Again, we tried to find the right mix between friends who have been with us for a long time and have been shaping the downtempo scene for years, paired with a large number of newcomers who convinced us with their sound quality and approach to production.

The compilation was mastered by our engineer of trust Haunted Water and the signature artwork was contributed as always by Kilian Van De Water. Enjoy listening.

HMWL Premiere: Kon Faber - Only Thing (Original Mix)

What if you were forced to spend your life on a mostly deserted island in the middle of the ocean? In such a thought experiment, hundreds of impressions come to mind. How would I obtain water and food? Are there wild or dangerous animals on the island, and would I be able to produce or find the necessary tools? Alongside these existential issues, questions about social connections and interactions also come up. Are there other individuals on the island, and if so, would they be friendly towards me? Considering it as a long-term situation, such an island life would likely be challenging to sustain. However, as a short break from everyday life … Nusa by Tim Tenhoff and Ru Yan reminds us of a long-gone and more emotional era of electronic music. The track awakens the desire for a white sandy beach and a starry night. Sipping an ice-cold cocktail at the bar while listening to the waves crashing. A deep conversation and a tear on the cheek perfectly complete the scenario as we walk arm in arm back to our bungalow.
