Strange Powers covers the Berlin classic. 

The song first appeared on Berlin's breakthrough album Pleasure Victim, released on the independent label Enigma in 1982 and re-released on Geffen in 1983. "The Metro" became the third single from the album, and the second to appear on the Geffen label. It was produced and engineered (as was most of the album) by the band's then-drummer and drum programmer, Daniel Van Patten.
The Berlin recording is known as epitomizing the new wave genre, for showing the genre for what it essentially was: a blending of punk rock and pop, with heavy use of the Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 synthesizer. Terri Nunn said the song, which was a breakthrough hit for Berlin, "defined us and defined that period of music. - wiki

“Innergaze is the musical project of Aurora Halal and Jason Letkiewicz – Letkiewicz is known for his work with or as Manhunter, Steve Summers and Rhythm Based Lovers; Halal a video editor and director. It’s pretty clear that Innergaze is a wholly collaborative effort, as Letkiewicz’s penchant for pulsing beats and organic house mingles with the hazy, psychedelic new-age atmospheres that shine through Halal’s video work, together creating something that could loosely fall under the ‘minimal synth’ tag. Don’t expect some sort of easily placeable sound, though – Innergaze has far more personality than your average electro duo, relying on intuition, emotion and a good jam session to create their music, not a rigid set of pre-determined parameters. Together, it’s like a robot coated in human flesh, sentient yet vaguely artificial, and like most cyborgs portrayed on TV, quite beautiful. The “Mutual Dreaming” LP is a limited pressing of 999 copies on 160 gram vinyl, housed in a high quality full color printed sleeve featuring a collaborative artwork concept by Veronica Vasicka and Aurora Halal.

MNQ 034 VARIOUS - THE END OF CIVILIZATION LP 

Mannequin has the dual and parallel aim to unearth hidden or unpublished gems, running along a road that starts from the period of reference for this kind of music (late 70s – mid 80s) and comes to nowdays, with a vision deeply influence by Factory Records / 4AD labels. 

Catching the same spirit of such great labels, we asked to the italian synth wave princess Mushy to create a compilation starting from a tabula rasa. The mission was hard. Following her tastes and heart, she had to select a dozen of new bands from all over the world with unreleased and unique for this project tracks, picking up the title and realizing the graphic design and artwork. The full process of "The End Of Civilization" took almost 1 year but the result was touching us ￼deep into our soul. 

Mushy began her career crafting noise bursts and aggressive oblique instrumentals before, in her newest form, blooming into a beautiful, epic and heart-heavy icy synth sound, having both "Faded Heart" (2011) and "Breathless" (2012) as album of the week at Rough Trade. "The End Of Civilization" perfectly represents her double sided synth-wave / kraut-psychedelic soul. Every track she selected for us is an absolute highlight, moving from the analog minimal / cold wave sounds of Police Des Moeurs, ASSS, The Circa Tapes, TEEEL and Rosemary to the tempestuous post punk and psychedelia of Deathday, The Murder Act, Phosphor and The Strange Forces, ending with spectral cold folk of Tablets and The Long Wives.

This simple song was written by Mikha Angelo, our lead vocalist.

He was trying out a new songwriting technique, by drawing a random picture, and then  describing it. Word after word, the lyric was made.

Basically its about this person. he's lost, and left alone. Then he walks to somewhere he don't even know, but hoping that the path he took will lead him to somebody. And he walks, he runs, and keeps on shouting.. even though the wind's blowing hard, the rain keeps on fallin, lights are fading. But he wont stop, because he knows that someone is out there waiting for him.
