Revealed in 2014 by leading French independant festivals Astropolis and the Transmusicales, Blutch has risen to the rank of up-and-comer producer, thanks to numerous releases on Astropolis Records, Nowadays, Délicieuse Musique, Barbecue and Dance Around 88, allowing him to collaborate with legends, such as US house pioneer Terrence Parker or Kompakt boss Michael Mayer, and the cream of contemporary producers: Lauer, Red Rack’em, Strip Steve, Mézigue or Maxime Dangles. From Laurent Garnier to Tom Trago, Blutch has received the support of the greatest artists, and the backing of media such as XLR8R, Resident Advisor, Ransom Note, Groove and Faze.

After promising beginnings between hip hop and abstract that have panicked the stream platforms, feverish and wandering house vinyls with soulful influences, contemporary and sunny disco beats, Blutch refines his production work with a thousand textures and sharpens a singular trademark between electronica, breakbeat and house, following in the footsteps of Rone, Bicep or James Holden. He unveiled the first outlines of this new identity on Astropolis Records with ‘La Cité des Etoiles’ EP in 2020, announcing the beginning of a new and long adventure on the label, which welcomes his debut album Jan.28, 2022, ‘Terre Promise’. A tribute to his native Brittany and a sonic turning point revealing a suave and generous electronic music in weightlessness between electronica, IDM, breakbeat, UKG and slow house. 

The first three singles ‘Cobalan’, ‘River’ and ‘Poplar’ announce a very successful first exercise of the long-format, accompanied by remixes from the cream of the French and European electronic scene: Jennifer Cardini & Damon Jee, Mézigue, Lauer, Maud Geffray, Madben, Malcolm.

Terre Promise is an album that will take on its full dimension on stage with a fabulous live AV, in collaboration with the motion designer Romain Navier who accompanies it with a captivating visual fable, a total immersion between two worlds, real and dreamlike, mixing meditative landscapes and abstract dreams. A dreamy and luminous scenography that perfectly illustrates Blutch’s universe.

San Miguel coming straight out of Berlin with our 62nd Second podcast. It is a 2 hour long journey, our longest podcast yet but he takes us on a euphoria  trip of delicious sounds. Easy slow house vibes perfect to ease your self after work. He will touch oriental sounds, south american grooves, African vocals with a constant progression keeping us hooked right until the end. 

San Miguel is known for his exquisite mix tapes and can be found mixing at numerous venues and festivals in German and Switzerland and notably in his home town Berlin. He has a number of releases through Phonothek Records and it is worthwhile taking the time checking his profile for the latest releases.

AfrikaBurn.. and playing Friday Night on The Spirit Train. What a amazing and honourable experience this was!! The Spirit Train took a year off in 2018 so I only heard stories about it. From the stories I understood that it was an incredible art project and mindblowing stage with an enormous energy that can be felt all over the Tankwa desert. I never even thought that I would have the chance to play on it.. 

That was until early 2019 when @michel-piccaya approached me and asked if I wanted to contribute with my music. I was surprised and honoured and put a lot of time and concentration in preparation of my gig. I played my first gig on the train on Monday night and was overwhelmed by the crowd. I was told though that this was just a warm up and Friday night would be way bigger. 

Well they were right. 

All the lights, lasers, flamethrowers were up and running, my dear friends Vincent Freebird Lauenstein and Diana Frankovic did video mapping on the train and the playa was completely filled with people. I had never played for so many thousands of people and for such an energetic crowd. It was so much fun, as was the rest of AfrikaBurn. Building Ubuhlanti stage and camp and playing at lots of other amazing camps. Connecting with so many people, playing B2B with @powlina, @joep-mencke, @vander_music and @deep_schismic ... but this gig on Friday was my personal highlight and that is why I share it with you dear friends. I feel so thankful for all the support and the chance to play on these amazing places. 

Special thanks to Jonx Pillemer for this gorgeous shot of this year's Clan effigy, designed by Lindsay Cessford and built by Mike Rule and his amazing crew. Also thanks to @afrikaburn for creating this playground for us burners, you are amazing! After the sage – accompanied by his trusted guide owl – sneaked stealthily into the forest, he sensed an unusually serene energy.  This was clearly no ordinary forest.  After a while he noticed a procession of animals heading into the same direction and he decided to follow them until they ground to a halt while all animals looked into the same direction.  The sage looked into the same direction and what he saw left him completely petrified.  In a nearby clearing he saw a young girl – maybe still in her teens - with very long brown hair and an immaculately white dress frolic with some wolves.  The sage didn’t know whether to hide or flee, but when he saw all the forest dwellers around him watching this spectacle in a relaxed mood, he concluded it was OK to keep on observing this mystery girl while staying out of sight in order not to disturb her.
The sage wasn’t sure whether this girl was a fairy or maybe a witch, but she obviously wasn’t an ordinary human being.  After a few minutes, the girl started collecting some firewood.  The nearby animals immediately started to help her, with a couple of magpies flying in some twigs while two wolves and a few squirrels swiftly collected some pieces of wood and laid it at the feet of the young witch.  With all this help, it only took a few minutes before a small pile of firewood was lying in front of the barefoot girl.  After indicating that there was enough wood now, she took a small cauldron and filled it with some fresh water from a nearby stream.  She also picked a selection of herbs and mushrooms and when all the ingredients had been gathered, she put the cauldron on the fireplace and with an elegant hand movement, she lighted a floating spark which found its way to the firewood and set it ablaze.  The sage was dumbfounded by this magic spectacle, and so was his guide owl who sat on his shoulder all the time.  With calm and unhurried movements, the girl put all the ingredients into the cauldron and gently stirred the brew.  Meanwhile the sage asked himself how the dress of this barefoot forest girl could be so immaculately white.  After about half an hour, the brew seemed to be ready and the witch took the cauldron away from the fire to let it cool down.  
The sage – who was looking at the spectacle from a respectful distance – still didn’t have a clue what was the purpose of the brew.  Apparently not for immediate consumption, because the young witch took the cauldron in her hand and walked away, followed by a small group of playful forest animals.  All the animals who had been watching the movements of the witch at the same spot as the sage, also started to move in the same direction.  Presumably, they knew what was going to happen.  The barefoot witch followed a narrow forest path and every now and then she stopped to take some time to admire some of the countless flowers in this enchanted forest.  Finally, she arrived at a pond which seemed to hide a well underneath the surface, as a little stream was flowing out of the pond.  The group of animals which the sage was following, also stopped in their tracks at a perfect vantage point over the pond and the little stream, and observed the movements of the young witch from a distance.  The girl had put the cauldron on the ground.  She was visibly enjoying the beautiful surroundings and once again it struck the sage how beautiful and elegant she was with her long brown hair and white dress (which looked very clean, but apparently not clean enough for the young witch as she started inspecting her clothes).  The sage looked at the animals who were surrounding him, and they were all exclusively focused on the little witch, who was now standing next to the cauldron on the bank of the little stream.  And then, without any warning, it became clear what the purpose of the brew was…
