The name Metro Beirut was born from the vision of an imaginary locomotive, a symbol of the trains that once crossed Lebanon, now lost to time.

Today, that symbol carries new meaning. Just as the Hijaz Railway once linked distant lands, our music aims to connect personal histories, unique paths, and the collective spirit of our community. With each release, we invite listeners on a journey, one that reflects our realities and shared experiences. 

This is our reimagined sound: rooted in our homeland, shaped by our stories, and resonating with the soul of Beirut.

Lebanese indie label Ruptured was founded in 2008 by music promoter/radio producer Ziad Nawfal and sound engineer/producer Fadi Tabbal from Tunefork Studios, as an outlet for their activities as music producers and promoters in Beirut. 
Ruptured aims to release material by Lebanese and international artists, with a strong focus on alternative rock, electronic and experimental music.

Created in 2009 by Lebanese musicians Raed Yassin and Sharif Sehnaoui and visual artist Hatem Imam, Annihaya is a conceptual music label that specializes in the displacement, deconstruction and 'recycling' of popular or folkloric musical cultures.
