[8-Bit Forboding Instrumental] Putrid Forest

Finally got around to making "ver.B"

This time around, I wrote this in FamiTracker, a module editor that emulates the sound hardware of the Nintendo FamiCom and synthesizes the voice channels more faithfully. I was still able to stay within the limits of the system's hardware but still expand polyphony, thanks to MMC5, which simply adds two more square-wave voice channels.

This was my first attempt at playing with FamiTracker's VRC7 chipset emulation. While there were limitations in the chipset's polyphony, the sound came out all right. Unfortunately, the chipset wasn't able to pump out much in the low-end frequencies, so I boosted the bass after I converted the file from FTM to MP3.

Whew, that's a long title, isn't it? Anyways...

Here's a song from a game that I played in my childhood. I didn't get this far into it, but after finding a rather high-quality game rip *wink wink* on SiIvaGunner's channel, I was instantly reminded of it. What I was surprised to find out is that the original composer is 4mat, who I only knew for a couple of his chiptune works. Interesting stuff, IMO.

Credit goes to HertzDevil for the steel drum sample.

SpongeBob SquarePants: SuperSponge- Industrial Fields & Oil Rig [6-N163]

Since I made a soundcloud account to bash a footwork music artist for stealing Sapling by Blitz Lunar, I figured I might as well upload some of my music.

This one here is a cover of Aruarian Dance by Nujabes. I made this in famitracker 3.8 beta 3 with the default 2A03 chip and the VRC7 expansion chip. If any of you have watched Samurai Champloo, then you may recall this song (though I vaguely remember this song playing in a scene where Jin was with a woman who wasnt Fuu, fuck man idk that was like 5-6 years ago lmao).

Anyway, I started this one at the beginning of March. It wasn't really difficult, but this also marks the first time I ever used VRC7. I can't say I'm all too fond of the way the volumes work in VRC7, but I tried to work with it the best I could. I also took a couple liberties with the song (mainly the chords) so hopefully it doesn't detract from my cov as a whole.
