I am a guy who was interested in music and drawing as a child, and soon I began to play drums and then other instruments such as the guitar or piano. I recorded during a time songs that I composed and that played all the instruments, then when I could not play the drums anymore for lack of a good place I dedicated myself to mixing with the turntables and I entered the world of electronic music playing dj especially at home or at some parties and doing and participating in some compositions with my brother, a friend or me alone. This is all up to the present.

Folk indie punk singer songwriter, guitars, keyboard. Jordan Watkins co-wrote 7 songs and plays guitars on those songs (as attributed). Also writing credits (as attributed) to Nigel Boot, K. Biggle and M. Rambout on 8 songs.

Putting my stuff out there "where funk meets punk"- using dynamic Shure SM58 microphone and Ableton 11 live recording software. Hohner Strat, Epiphone ES339 guitar, Taylor GS Mini Acoustic, Hohner harmonica and Yamaha keyboard E463.

Fave bands - L7, Lemonheads, Fat Tulips, Joy Division, Strawberry Story, The Smiths, Shonen Knife, Sex Pistols, Heavenly, The Fall, Slits, Bhundu Boys, Vaselines, The Pastels, Teenage Fanclub, Shalewambe, Jonah Moyo, Billy Bragg, Felt, Velvet Underground, Jeffrey Lewis, Jimi Hendrix....plus loads of other stuff.

Thanks in particular to Damian Smith and the Journeymen, QB Bills and The Strums for getting me into the Soundcloud community, and John Stone for listening from the start, and all those great musicians around the world listening in. Wonderful that music that didn't even exist a day, or even hours ago gets to go around the world. Always brilliant to be amongst the first to hear new stuff.

Hello dear Soundcloud listeners,

I'm still determined to continue producing music, the music of Pier Will, which can only be heard on Soundcloud and which can also be recorded... for now.

The world of music is rapidly moving towards a huge upheaval where the true musician will very quickly become "rare," or even more and more of a shadow, a peculiarity, a memory. This time is not so far away, as AI takes a predominant place in everything that touches us and surrounds us and in Music, this can already be heard very clearly!

Apparently, everyone is taking this lightly, and the few diehards are being sneered at as anti-progress terrorists, for now. I already have two work computers disconnected from the internet, which house my software and everything I need to work. No more updates for them to work properly... updates are only necessary if you need to connect! Another computer is dedicated solely to internet connection and will be used exclusively for streaming the tracks.

This decision has serious consequences for my production, as there are no more options to add anything to it. It's a gamble, but for me, it's an obligation to remain completely independent and free from AI.

Je suis toujours déterminé à continuer à produire de la musique, celle de Pier Will, que l'on ne peut écouter que sur Soundcloud et qui peut aussi être enregistrée… pour l'instant.

Le monde de la musique s'achemine rapidement vers un bouleversement majeur où le véritable musicien deviendra très vite « rare », voire de plus en plus une ombre, une singularité, un souvenir. Ce temps n'est pas si lointain, car l'IA prend une place prépondérante dans tout ce qui nous touche et nous entoure, et en musique, cela se voit déjà très clairement !

Apparemment, tout le monde prend cela à la légère, et les quelques irréductibles sont méprisés comme des terroristes anti-progrès, pour l'instant. J'ai déjà deux ordinateurs de travail déconnectés d'Internet, qui hébergent mes logiciels et tout ce dont j'ai besoin pour travailler. Plus besoin de mises à jour pour qu'ils fonctionnent correctement… les mises à jour ne sont nécessaires que si vous avez besoin de vous connecter ! Un autre ordinateur est dédié uniquement à la connexion Internet et sera utilisé exclusivement pour le streaming des morceaux.

Cette décision a de graves conséquences sur ma production, car il n'y a plus aucune possibilité d'y ajouter quoi que ce soit. C'est un pari risqué, mais pour moi, c'est une obligation de rester totalement indépendant et libre de toute IA.
