Relative Present (2023, 12' 08'') is a stereophonic acousmatic piece.

The work, halfway between soundscape, field recording and acousmatic music, is inspired by the idea of the extended present, here declined in a real possibility of simultaneously proposing "soundscapes" distant from each other in space-time.

The illusion of being able to cancel temporal and physical distances is made possible by the compositional practice, which starts from a research and selection of materials present in the author's personal sound archive.

The sound events are not resolved only in a naturalistic approach, but also involve other aspects, perhaps typical, of contemporay Western society (coexistence of different natural languages, recurring festivals and related celebrations, "technophonies" etc.) They take shape accompanied by original sound objects that represent the "voice", the personal "timbre" of the author, and which act as a counterpoint to the sounds organized in the montage.

The heterogeneous influences of this work have the task of making audible above all those cultural relationships that permeate the everyday life in which we experience sound.

Let us imagine a small invented world, a micro universe where everything exists... matter, energy, spirit, telluric movements, mysteries, natural and supernatural forces. That world is whole and from afar, whoever watches, sees it as a living ocean.
This work was composed in the Musiques-Recherches studio and is dedicated to Annette Vande Gorne and Francis Dhomont.

Claustro 5.1 (for Huw Mcgregor) 

Derived from the Latin, "claustrum," meaning "shut-in" or "enclosure." Claustro is the third composition in a series of works which explore aural micro-space. A sounding place of improved intelligibility through greater aural intimacy. The work is an invitation to come in and listen out for the thin line between philia and phobia that such places evoke. The discontinuous and non-homogenous nature of acoustic space inspires the arrangement of sound materials here.  Recordings of original sound sources were conducted using a micro multichannel array designed and built in collaboration with Huw Mcgregor.

BLOWN 3 explores bass clarinet sounds and breathing. The clarinet was closely miked to have an inner tube sensation to match the breathing voice. The piece is a micromontage. 

BLOWN 3 is abstract in its aural realism, but it is descriptive in spirit. The player’s breath (sometimes exaggerated or exacerbated) also articulates at a level that can be described as more “human”. But in all, a superhuman quality emerges, an overwhelming sense of depuration, magnification, sublimation flow to multiply the angles of perception. Inhale-exhale and the in-between sonic world. Electroacoustic music composer and multimedia performer, Marco Ferrazza studied contemporary art and electronic music. His work, performed in several competitions and festivals, constantly looks into relationships between concrète sounds and computer music, electronic arts and field recording, improvisation and new technologies.
