Lost my heart

I was not alive on September 11, 2001. I carry no personal scars from that day, no missing loved ones, no memories burned into me by trauma. But the absence of firsthand experience has never dulled the empathy I feel for those who lived through it. Over the years, I’ve read, researched, and reflected—and in doing so, I’ve tried to understand, in some small way, the enormity of what people faced. I created this album as an attempt to capture that transformation: how an ordinary morning in the Twin Towers—the pride of New York’s skyline—was shattered into chaos, fear, and unbearable loss.

It is dedicated to the memory of all who perished, to the families whose lives were forever changed, and to the resilience of a world that still carries the echoes of that day. Twenty-four years later, their stories remain. Their lives will not be forgotten.

Stage One:
Life is steady, full, and ordinary. It always is in the greatest city in the world. From Central Park to the iconic courts on West 4th, no one sleeps in New York City. On the morning of September 11th, our protagonist heads into their office—the World Trade Center—proud to work inside the beating heart of a global city.

Stage Two:
In an instant, everything changes. The sound of impact. The trembling of steel. The choking smoke that swallows hallways. Confusion mutates into terror as fire engulfs the towers. The walls of security and routine crumble, replaced by dread, panic, and an overwhelming sense of being trapped inside history’s darkest hour.

Stage Three:
Even as time passes, the memory does not fade. The images, the sounds, the fear... they remain etched into the mind, unshakable. The day is over, but its weight is carried forever.

Browsers & Sisters (Dombrance Mix)

DBFC, signed to Different Recordings late last year are set to release their second single for the label when they unveil ‘Autonomic’ on April 29th.

Fronted by Mancunian David Shaw and Parisian Dombrance, this Anglo-French outfit comes together as a four-way collective, not a band  as such but more a club.  Featuring  alongside the duo come  percussionist Guillaume Rossel and bassist Victor Paillet, the DBFC vision is entrenched within the French electronic music scene but, as witnessed on their debut for Different Recordings, ‘Get It All’, they succeeded in creating a sound that encompasses their multi-facetted talents.

We premiere ‘Autonomic’ today and heralds its arrival inhabiting a more dance-orientated world and whilst eschewing elements of their previous single..

There's more dewy-eyed, loved-up re-edit action to be found on this second salve from the mysterious Love Creation crew. Opener "Turn My Back On You" is a sultry, late night delight; an impressively seductive rearrangement of a slow burning, Sade style shuffler full of lazy guitar lines, rising and falling bass, and crotch-stirring vocals. Stay tuned to side A for the psychedelic disco-rock trip that is "Mr Bates" - and, yes, it's definitely Balearic - or flip to the B for the freshly baked soul shuffle of "Take Me With You". All three edits are undoubtedly winners, and should suit warm up sets, afternoon jams, and dancers that don't need a hectic tempo to get down.

Brilliantly crafted House Music delivered with finesse. In places these two songs cover the deeper side of house music but can be definite and aggressive to keep your dance-floor busy. Let's face it, deep house isn't what it used to be and it is currently being dragged through the commercial market but with this superb release Ben has comfortably brought that sound we love and keep in such high regard back to its original space. 'Monochord' is punchy, edgy & flowing and is well coupled with 'Be About It', a more thoughtful and rootsy number that you won't struggle to fit into your sets either, this is just very good music! 

This is a great label debut from a very talented man. This is a must have in your collection.

Jamie Lloyd follows up his last12 inch Adori’s Kitchen with an EP of low-slung disco grooves, vocal cutups and great songwriting showing another side of this talented Australian artist. New York’s Brennan Green opens proceedings with his Movin’ Out remix, a tasty 8 minute slab of disco space funk with slippery squelching lead synth runs and cheeky breakdowns throughout. Jamie’s original continues in the 107bpm disco electric vibe with nice sounds and a cool sense of space. Flip for Zooptron, a quirky, chopped up party tune in the spirit of Jamie Lidell and All The Honey, a spaced out minimal disco gem in a Metro Area or Kelley Polar vibe.

Though its DNA touches on classic soul, rock, disco, and acid house, London-based producer and DJ Marcus Marr makes music for today. Marr’s work - released through DFA Records, Detail and New Finger Records - has been championed by Annie Mac, BBC Radio One, Pitchfork, SPIN, Clash Magazine and The Fader.

A regular at Berlin’s famed nightclub Berghain/Panorama Bar since 2014, Marcus Marr recently released the Familiar Five EP and performed a string of co-headline dates in North America with The Juan Maclean. He has previously appeared with the likes of Hot Chip, Floating Points, The Black Madonna and Optimo, and has performed at the highly-regarded MoMa PS1 Warm Up series, Day For Night Festival, and Art Basel Miami. Marcus has also contributed mixes to Beats in Space and Boiler Room
