Introducing KINGS, the brand new record by The Glorious.

The fourth album from the Melbourne-based band is their most dynamic and varied to date, a deep trip of sublime melody and consummate songcraft.

The past 18 months have seen the The Glorious begin to carve inroads into America. A worldwide publishing deal for singer-songwriter Dave Mather with LA based Superior Music yielded a major song placement on the Fox TV show 'Bones'. This breakthrough saw the band travel to LA for a clutch of shows, including Gary Calamar's famed 'Mimosa' showcase. The increased exposure provided the spark for Mather to gather his most ambitious group of songs for the band's next recording.

KINGS was recorded live to tape, and captures the quicksilver alchemy that occurs when Mather gets in a room with bassist Joel Loukes and drummer Dan Gard'ner. Mather handles full production duties for the first time, and his knack for beautiful arrangements and restrained instrumentation seeps through every track on the album. 

The record is a compelling sonic journey. From haunting, piano-based balladry ('Saving Me', 'Easy Chair') to Springsteen flavoured yearning ('Last Game of the Season') and golden, string-laced pop ('Meteorite'), Mather's supreme sense of melody combine with the band's limber chemistry to conjure a rare magic. The clear-eyed mixes of long-time collaborator Julian Mendelsohn (Paul McCartney, Kate Bush) provide the final polish, giving the album a slightly raw, timeless resonance.

The band will release two lead tracks from KINGS in April and May, with the full album being released internationally on June 1, 2018.

The record will be released through Los Angeles based company Koral Young.
