Subsquad Prod. présente le troisième volet de sa série de compilation, les CITY SQUAD, qui mettent en lumière une ville et ses artistes avec des morceaux exclusifs, le tout en téléchargement libre.
Ce troisième opus est dédié à Marseille (et sa voisine Aix-en-Provence) et présente 14 producteurs locaux, depuis la musique Roots jusqu'au Stepper en passant par le pur Dub de Sound System. Vous pouvez également découvrir, sur la page dédiée sur notre site internet, la liste des Sound Systems locaux ainsi qu'un historique du Dub à Marseille.

Subsquad Prod present the third part of our serie of compilation, the CITY SQUAD. Each part will present the dub makers of a city (and its surroundings) through a compilation of exclusive tunes that will be available in free download.

This third part is dedicated to Marseille (and its neighbor Aix-en-Provence) and presents 14 producers from this area, from Roots music to Stepper. You can also discover, on our website, the list of local Sound System and a short historic of Dub history in Marseille.

Créé en 2017 en région parisienne, Digital Lover propose un Reggae instrumental atmosphérique aux frontières du Rock, du Dub et de la Synthwave. Pendant 3 ans, Digital Lover a façonné son univers sans se soucier des codes, laissant libre cours à sa créativité. L’enregistrement de son premier EP a été réalisé de façon nomade, au gré de ses voyages à travers la France.

L’EP “Derangement”, qui signifie “Dérèglement” en français, propose un premier opus exclusivement instrumental. Digital Lover y invite l’auditeur par le choix des titres et à travers ses clips à une réflexion sur les différents dérèglements que traverse notre époque. D’entrée de jeu, l’EP s’ouvre sur ce thème avec le titre “Data” qui expose les multiples dérives liées à l’utilisation des données et la nécessité de contrôler les champs d’action de l’IA. “Data” est aussi le premier titre clipé de l’EP et met en lumière les dérives de l’environnement numérique, le piège de l’addiction aux smartphones…. Il a été créé uniquement à base de GIF, placés bout à bout, détournant ainsi un outil du numérique non destiné à cet effet, transformant ces éléments graphiques isolés en un discours.

Created in 2017 in Paris, Digital Lover offers atmospheric instrumental reggae on the edge of rock, dub and synthwave. During the past three years, Digital Lover has shaped his universe regardless of codes and letting his creativity run free. He recorded his first EP nomadically and was largely inspired by the different musical practices he witnessed during his journey around France.

The EP ‘Derangement’ offers an exclusively instrumental first opus. Through his video clips, the choice of titles and its various meanings, the listener is invited to reflect on the deep upheavals of our time. The EP opens with the song ‘Datas’, highlighting the multiple drifts related to data use and the need to control the scope of AI. ‘Data’ is also the first video clip of the EP and it emphasizes the digital environment excesses, the trap of smartphone addiction and so on… It was created solely from GIFs put together, thereby diverting a digital tool and creating a narrative from isolated graphic elements.

Originaire de Lyon et étudiant en mode à Milan, Automated Desire a toujours eu ce besoin d'explorer et de créer, en s'informant sur la peinture, le cinéma, les arts visuels... Mais son dévouement s'exprime surtout en musique. Il commence très tôt à composer du dubstep, pour ensuite trouver sa voie dans la Dub, la Drum&Bass et le Breakbeat.

A travers son premier EP solo, l'artiste propose un voyage visceral vers l'autodestruction et l’abandon de soi, illustré par des sonorités raw et chromées, résultat d’un croisement entre le Dub, le Garage et la Jungle. Le résultat est un projet qui peut aussi bien être écouté en concert qu’en pleine virée nocturne.

Coming from Lyon and studying Fashion Design in Milan, Automated Desire has always felt an urge to explore and create, by learning about painting, cinema, visual arts... But his dedication is mostly expressed in music. He first began to compose dubstep, and then found his way in Dub, Drum&Bass and Breakbeat.

Through his debut solo EP, the artist offers a visceral journey towards self-destruction and abandonment, illustrated by raw and chrome sounds, the result of a crossing between Dub, Garage and Jungle. Détérioration is a project that can be listened to in a concert as well as coming back home after a night out.

Sindh kicks on with a third release here, a second in the Komudo Series. It features four original tracks "focusing on mind and body movement." Senses' opens up with a trippy blend of sleek minimal rhythms and paranoid vocal loops and 'Gataka' then layers up curling synths and jacked drums with some eerie late-night menace. 'Vulcan' then picks up the pace with another lithe and classy techno pumper then gets you into a hypnotic state and 'Sky Fusion' brings things to a close with some silky loops and funky rhythms.

Marée BASS est une association loi 1901 dont le principe est simple : partager et soutenir les musiques à BASS amplifiées ainsi que la culture Sound System.
Depuis 2011 que l'asso existe, elle n'a cessé de croître grâce à un élan de passion qui vise à mettre les producteurs de musiques du genre travaillant en Home Studio sur les devants de la scène. Souvent axée sur le Dub, le Stepper ou encore le Dubstep, Marée BASS flirte aussi avec l'Abstract, le Hip-Hop ou encore la House et l'IDM.
L'éclectisme de l'asso, à l'image de ses fondateurs, génére une force et une volonté de partage relativement unique. De nombreux projets transpirent de cette organisation : Concerts dans les bars (chez nous, chez vous, peu importe !!), Webradio, réalisations de compilations ou encore d'Ep, réalisation d'un blog/site web... Et tout cela grâce à des artistes dans toute la France (et au-delà !!) qui nous font confiance et en qui nous croyons !!
Marée BASS raisonne en terme d'équipe avec ses artistes et tente de proposer les meilleures sauces accoustiques pour un public toujours plus intéréssé...
