Mit einem Bein stehen sie im Großstadtdschungel von Berlin, mit dem anderen im Urwald vor den Toren der großen Stadt. Deshalb trifft der Sound von Kollektiv Ost den Nerv der Zeit mit raffinierten Alleinstellungsmerkmalen. Das Duo schafft es auf verblüffende Weise, die Erwartungen der Tanzfläche zu erfüllen und sie dabei immer wieder mit neuen Wendungen im Groove zu überraschen. So auch auf der Interflug EP, wo die beiden uns gleich dreimal hintereinander mit schwitzigem Groove und deliriösen Klangmustern wegfegen. Als Remix-Gast hat mich sich jemand an Bord geholt, der auf Augenhöhe mitspielen kann: Jan Oberländer, der diese ohnehin schon hochprozentige EP noch einen Ticken berauschender macht.

They got one leg in the metropolitan buzz of Berlin, and the other leg in the deep woods that surround this big city. That’s why the sound of Kollektiv Ost hits the nerve of the urban scene with a vibe that is truly independent and unique. The duo lives up to the expectations of the dancefloor, and it does so by taking it through unexpected turns all the time. Their Interflug EP is yet another splendid example for this approach, as Kollektiv Ost hurl us into a vortex of sweaty groove and delirious sound patterns with the dynamics of a catapult. The remix guest plays in the very same league: Jan Oberländer spikes the punch of this intoxicating EP with another dose of deep and driving pressure.
