I am so far out of my comfort zone on this one if I were playing left field I would be behind the wall in the parking lot; a baseball reference for my non-American friends. 

Band-in-a-Box is supplying the drums, piano, and string pad using my sound sources.  I am playing the guitar and via my breath and keyboard controllers the balance of instruments.

Hello… thanks for dropping by. This song is a loud, electric-slide song. It has overdriven slide, some homemade (learning how to:no drum kit) percussion, a vocal harmony and gravely vocals. I am happy I am able to do this at all, at 68 years of age… especially singing, which greatly wanes with age. (I really just started to sing within the last decade or so.) Traveling On… may be seen as a metaphor, or not, it doesn’t really matter. It might signify personal change or a movement toward and/or away from something. There is a hint of recognition, insofar as the unwavering essence of who we are… There is a suggestion of working toward peace. Again, this could be seen as metaphorical, in a sense of personal introspection. What do we espouse, condone and accept in this life for ourselves and society? Do you want to ‘Travel On’? First of all.. we did not win the Gema-songchallenge 2025, but we are free to present our contribution on SoundCloud and all other platforms..starting here..the  task was "Write a contemporary lyrics/anthem , close to the melody of "Auld Lang Syne"  comp./arr./music genre free to choose."
It was a real challenge for us but we gave it a try..as a lyricwriter I was always aware that whatever I tried I would never even come close to a epic line such as "We ll drink a cup of kindness yet " (Auld Lang Syne).

Save The  Only World  (Auld Lang Syne) Rusty Stone Music

Last spring, I had a jazzy musical interaction with songbirds to produce Magnolia. This spring, I explore the genre of jazz once again but this time with a mockingbird.

A few weeks ago, I recorded a mockingbird singing a jazzy serenade a cappella from his perch on my neighbor's chimney. And oh my! The bird sang like he was the hot new kid on the block, and the whole neighborhood had to listen!

The Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos) can sing up to 200 different songs, some of which are original and others mimic the sounds of other birds and creatures, including insects and machines. 

I added electro — keyboard, piano, bass, and electronic drum kits — to the mockingbird audio recording using my MIDI and DAW, and I hope you find the music as amusing and entertaining as the jazzy mockingbird’s song.

Audio of mockingbird recorded live April 2, 2025. The LoFi audio is raw, unaltered except for cuts to delete car noise and the conversation of neighbors, so that the music wraps around the birdsong.

With props to Harper Lee’s book, To Kill A Mockingbird, whose main character Atticus Finch teaches that it’s a sin to kill mockingbirds because they harm no one with their songs — a symbolic theme of the book — it’s wrong if not evil to attack or destroy innocent people.

Between 'Isle of Tears' or 'Land of Dreams' , I decided on both, as all my family (as far as I know) were all admitted and did much better over here than in Italy, where, according to my relatives, many starved, and then there was Mussolini... 
New York  also had its challenges, with frequent 'shoot-outs' on the streets, and no police to be found when it happened. Unfortunately, the mafia flourished in NY too and the Dons had their men extorting 'protection money' from new immigrants.

This is a blueprint for a song about people being away from the place they grew up and they once called home, keeping in touch with the people they miss, and making plans to go back and visit. 
It is about the feeling of being caught between where they’ve come from and where they are now. The music drifts between warm, familiar memories and the present moment, where life has pulled you somewhere new. It’s not heavy or dramatic, more like a gentle reminder of where you came from and the connections that never really fade.
