These are the talents that made Running Hot’s reputation worldwide as a prolific producer and superb selector, taking him to discerning dancefloors across the globe and placing him among our beloved guests in this series. His contribution to it is a fiery mix, fueled by the myriad rhythms of House Music in all of its glorious diversity that provides a constant heat source for everyone willing to let its light shine.

Gop Cast 118 - Running Hot

Not only is @theokottis joining our podcast series this week, but early next month he will join the label family too. His new Lighthouse EP is a perfect encapsulation of the Scotsman's style - house, techno and electro fusions with a knowing nod to the 90s and plenty of both physical and emotional impact. It's his first work since a "self-imposed creative reset" and comes after previous outings on the likes of Permanent Vacation and DGTL that have established the Space Dust label and party founder as someone who is as effective as he is unpretentious whether making or playing records.

His mix for us is inspired by recent gigs and is made up of tracks that were particularly well-received by the crowds. It's two hours of slick selections cross the house, techno and electro spectrum so, says Theo, "there's something for everyone to dance their way into 2024." And he's not wrong: this is exactly the sort of impossibly groovy soundtrack you want to warm you up and get you going with just the right balance between head and heel.

The very much in demand Dutch producer and DJ Eversines steps up for our 116th Phonica mix with over an hour of his own productions!

If you are just getting on the Eversines train you have missed quite alot of stops but its not too late to catch up. Having released on a wide range of labels like Slow Life, Nous'Klaer Audio and the label he co run's De Lichting; Eversine's (real name Remco Hazewinkel) has been considered an array of styles spanning techy, euphoric and ambient variations of house. These diverse styles has been showcased into his sets; ambient, deepness alongside pulsating acidy bass into pumping driven moments that have caused a sweat and huge clubs and festivals like the recently close De School and Dekmantel. We are delighted to have Remco added to our long running mix series with over an hour of his own productions from start to finish. Mogwaa is a Seoul-based DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist who can seemingly do no wrong. Since his debut EP in 2017, he's developed a stellar track record of releases and live performances that have made him an in-demand name across East Asia and beyond. And he's only just getting started.

The South Korean artist's multi-genre palette and hardware expertise have earned him the description of boy wonder from peers and collaborators. His work is awash in bright textures and dreamy moods, whether it's electro-fused techno for Peggy Gou's Gudu Records, limber jungle for Klasse Wrecks or dubby dancehall for Sound Metaphors. At Wonderfruit festival in December, he played a thrilling live set of spacey techno and loopy acid, infusing rich sound design into elastic groove. His stamina and enjoyment of music is tangible—he could probably play all night long and still be raring to go.

After learning classical piano, guitar and trumpet in his early years, he taught himself to compose and produce. He's now determined to work with South Korean producers through Walls And Pals, a label he runs alongside Jesse You.

Mogwaa's RA Podcast offers a glimpse into his multi-faceted sound. It's full of club-ready heaters, from trippy house to breakbeats, that pack a serious punch.

About the mix: Recording from my first gig of the year at Nowadays! This gig was so special in so many levels; I felt a surge of excitement and nervousness coursing through me.

From the perfect booth to the sweaty dance floor and a crowd that is there for the right reasons - make this space so magical. And so it felt in the same way to play for the first time there. Atmosphere was palpable and the hours flew away, they melted in sweatiness, connection and transformation thru music.

Bringing a whole ton of positive energy to her sets and releases alike, among them those for Permanent Vacation and Robert Johnson, Jorkes mashes up jocular disco with every house classic you can name. A key focus to her work too is the elevation of issues related to gender and queerness, making her a shoo-in for the Hydrash endeavour. It’s a cheeky and salacious celebration of life, a middle finger to imposed normativity, one that ramps up the serotonin minute by minute. Bassiani Podcast 205 is cheeky and fearless, a no fucks given mix packed full of glistening synths and euphoric diva vocals, feel-good rhythms from the Bassiani floor.
