This mix has been on my Mixcloud for some time, but thought it would be good to have on here as it's downloadable! I did this mix back in lockdown as an extension of a livestream set I had done for Movin House a few weeks before. Tripoli for me was THE label in the mid to late 90s and early part of the 2000s, and I played pretty much every release. So here's my six hour tribute of my favourites and hope yours too!

You definitely wouldn`t have heard this before, only 45 mins, this is proper rare, nice and early, from about late 94 /early 95. [Correction, the cognicenti have put it early / mid 93!] Second half of one of Tony`s sets. It`s definitely Tony as Ian M has verified it. [I thought it was Ian as it was so tough] He said that Tony was the only one with the balls to play No Women Allowed in Trade at that time lol. Tough as nuts, get used to it, another piece of the jigsaw. Wow!  Many thanks to Barry Williams for the tape x  Apologies in advance for the stolen Trade photo x

Tony de Vit Live at Trade !!!

2 days after the 17th year anniversary of Tony's passing away.
Crazy Daisy's Summer festival was taking place.
Tony was a massive part of success that Crazy Daisy's was in the 90's and held firm regular slots over a few years in the peak of the Crazy Daisy's rise in clubland.  
Being a good friend of Tony's I felt it fitting to play the final set of 
the event as a tribute to Tony and the sound he pushed in that special era at Daisy's. 
And this tribute was reinforced double fold as fitting when original owner Kate Marsden and Resident Jay G made me aware how pinnacle Tony's first ever set at Crazy Daisy's was to the success the club then become. 
He did for Daisy's what he pretty much went on to do in every club he walked in and played around that time. Went in and raised the bar, the energy and excitement and made the die hard followers of a brand crave him more and more. 
This mix is a very good reflection of the sound Tony tended to play at Daisy's, and how i remembered it.
Hope you enjoy the tribute to a very special one off man.

After listening back to this recording, i am gonna re-do this set again at home and replace this file. We had a lot of sound issues at the venue, with noise abatement officers changing levels all through the set. So you can hear drops in volume and quality throughout the mix. But it's still good enough for the next couple of days. :)

Listen to this! Once again, as rare as a very rare thing, definitely him, definitely live at Trade. Early to mid 95, some wicked choices and combinations, proper quality! Again, only 45 mins long, the second half of his set, but still a beautiful find [I`ll boost the sound in a couple of weeks and replace the file] Think about what he would have been playing up and down the country all weekend and to then turn up at Trade and just let rip, no wonder he said that he had a record box purely for the ones he was going to play at Trade. Many thanks to Barry Williams for the tape and apologies in advance to Trade for nicking the photo.

Here's my little old skool techno tribute to the clubnight I near enough grew up in for my early dj'ing days and finally being a resident for 8 odd years. Obviously, this is just scratching the surface regarding the selection of tunes we all played down there. But here's a starter with more on it's way.
And with "Trade 25 The Final" just passing at the weekend (25th Oct 2015), here's a small selection of tunes that some of the Trade Babies went mental over on the dancefloor, mainly played by residents Daz & Trevor & Tony de Vit and over time by myself.
The final Trade event at "The Egg" in London was unbelieveable with many faces from old & new attending including some famous names and dj's from all over the globe.
It's an event which will be talked about for years to come.
I hope you enjoy the mix and try to remember those mental mornings/days down in the depths of Turnmills. It was definitely "FIERCE" and "RULIN'" at TRADE.

Dedicated to the memory of Tony De Vit.

I first heard Tony properly when I was a boy at Gatecrasher in Sheffield, aged 15. His set changed my path, my life and my future. Never had I witnessed such unity, happiness, joy and elation amongst complete strangers...until I joined the Trade family, sadly after Tony passed away.

This mix is dedicated to an incredible man who has been and always will be a huge inspiration for me. Tony's divine energy, flawless mixing & passion shone through like no other. Being resident DJ at the same club as Tony still gives me shivers.

When I heard that Tony passed I was still at school and couldn't legally enter a club. I was so excited about leaving school and hearing him play every week. Having that energy and inspiration cut short hit home. When I heard Tony passed I cried.

Through Tony's music I felt like I knew a part of him. I guess we all did. Tony's sound was so honest, sometimes brutal yet still beautiful, his Trade sets pushed the limits of any club in the land...with such elegance and grace, gently leading your ears to another level that you never knew existed.

God bless you Tony. I hope God is enjoying your music as much as we did!
