Mark M McDonald is a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and performer who currently resides in the Asheville, NC area.

Mark credits a long list of both individual artists and groups for guiding him on his musical journey (Van Morrison, Steely Dan, J.J. Cale, Grateful Dead, Johnny Cash, Pink Floyd, Anders Osborne, and Paolo Nutini, to name a few). He identifies many of these artists not only as bellwethers of his musical style, but also as influencers of the emotional and metaphor-infused lyrics found throughout his catalogue of work.

When referring to his lyrics a friend once said:
