Pete Bromley has been Stoke On Trent's top House DJ since 1989 and it has been an interesting and varied journey for him! Resident DJ at Stoke's first successful Underground Dance night 'Introspective' back in 1989 he went on to play at the infamous Shelleys Laserdome as well as other influential clubnights across the UK. Pete's next residency was to be at the Freetown in Hanley which would see him play alongside DJ's like Sasha & Dave Seaman. This would become the stepping stone to his next residency, the legendary Golden. Pete was the main resident DJ at Golden for an amazing 11 years which saw him play with the worlds biggest DJ's bar none. During this time he played many guest appearances at places such as Cream, Renaissance, Ministry Of Sound and DJ magazine listed him as one of the most popular resident DJ's in the world, resulting in his Essential Mix live on Radio 1 alongside Pete Tong at Sankeys in 1996. Quite an accolade seeing as he has never bolstered his career with international gigs, remixes or a recording career as 99% of producer/DJ's do these days. After Golden's demise In 2003, Pete then went on to become one of the resident DJ's at Satchmo's which has now become part of Stoke clubbing folkelore and his position has been cemented over the last years as resident DJ for the Move and their parties at The Sugarmill, Spode Warehouse & The Underground  playing alongside Jamie Jones, Patrick Topping, Solardo, Skream, Annie Mac, Derrick Carter, Pete Tong, MK, Todd Terry, Seth Troxler, The Martinez Brothers, Steve Lawler, Hot Since 82, Eats Everything, Darius Syrossian,Micheal Bibi, Alan Fitzpatrick, wAFF,  Dimitri From Paris, Kenny Dope, Low Steppa, Dan Shake amongst dozens of House musics elite. The idea behind my page is to log and showcase the music that has influenced me over the last 35+ years so that my daughter, Ebony, can listen to ‘olden day’ music and hopefully appreciate how good we had it. 

Having learnt my craft in the late 80’s at the age of 12 and teaching myself how to beat match on 1200’s within a week, I felt I had a knack for this DJ’ing thing way before it became fashionable. I would class myself as quite a versatile DJ able to lend my hand to most genres. Hopefully all those years of bedroom mixing and house parties have paid off…but that’s up to you to decide. 

I attempt to capture a constant energy in my mixes regardless of genre and am always a firm believer that the mix is as important as the track itself. I endeavour to create seamless transitions whilst maintaining the energy. During longer mixes a welcome switch in style is sometimes required. In fact different genres warrant different styles of mixing, in my opinion. And monotonous sets do nothing for me. Up and down, peaks and troughs, it’s all about building the listener up and letting them down gently.

Never one to choose tracks based on their popularity or current chart position, I hand pick the tunes I mix because I think they’ll stand the test of time. The idea being that during any of my sets I can pick a point and know I’ll dig that track or mix. Although digitally digging isn’t as rewarding as finding physical vinyl records for me, it is a whole lot easier. That said there are a lot of below par tunes out there to sift through before finding worthy tracks. Then the set process begins…I just approach it as a musical jigsaw.

I have owned two turntables and a mixer since 1991 and have a vast vinyl collection stretching back to the early 80's. My 1st dabble in producing got 
 me a release on Global Music Records with Audio Acid Ride .(Available now from Beatport itunes Amazon,Spotify ect).I have also been signed to Cadillac records with a new e.p available October 2017 and two singles due out on Record Union mid December 2017.
I was lucky enough to experience the early UK acid house and rave scene in warehouses, fields and big tops before the music split off into different genres. House music has always been the root for me but my musical taste is varied through the whole dance scene. 
My 1st professional dj gig was in the  early 90,s  and went on to Dj and promote my own nights at Club Woodside Welham Green called Cupid Stunts .
 In summer 1994 I was off to Malia Greece with my records and managed to get a gig in a bar on the back of a mixtape . That soon led into a set at Starlight Club in which I played every night while there , same thing in 1995 and 96. I then worked in Faliraki Rhodes full time as a Dj in all the bars, pools, beach parties and clubs in 1997 and 98. Two years of mayhem .
Back in London I was resident Dj for Spoilt For Choice an offshoot of garage and house  big boys Pure Silk for 3 years .
A long stint locally in bars and clubs in and around St Albans was the score for 2000 onwards .
 I now currently co promote and Dj at our own night called "Olds Cool" where we play the very best classics across all genres .
